My "foreign" truck is made 100% in America....where is your motor made bud?

see that's what I don't understand, why must you put down other makes and models to make the Ford look good. You said what can the Titan do that Ford can't....well, run a 15 sec 1/4 bone stock for one. I've had my Titan since April and it has 12,000 problem free miles on it and I am towing my work trailer 80% of the time...here is a video of what I do...notice at the end the tone of the "stock" exhaust...it's bad A$$.

I don't have to put down Ford to make my truck look good. And I won't! I have nothing bad to say about my F-150 that I had..I loved it, and I would buy another one, as soon as they have as much bang for the buck.....

Thats hilarious, do you think that Ford or GM are any more domestic than Toyota and Nissan?? Manufacturing your parts in Mexico and Canada do not constitute for being "domestic." So the whole "made in America" argument is futile.

Of course beauty is in the eye of beholder, but I love how the truck debate reverts back to "my truck looks better".

Wow, this has turned a little........

Not sure what a stock for stock truck does against each other.
I mean Dodge, GM, Nissan, Ford.......
Does anyone know that?

I'm a Ford man myself and I don't think I'd ever switch to Chevy or Dodge, and damn sure not Toyota or Nissan. That being said, my 02 SCrew got massacred by my friend's 05 Titan when I raced it stock. It is the god's honest truth that Ford is underpowered; say what you say, we don't get the numbers that some other trucks do.
Personally, I don't mind. I like the idea of being a dark horse. Modding my own engine and putting the smackdown on other trucks that think they're badass, even if they are stock is a great feeling. I've got a bunch of stuff under the hood now, and I think I can take a stock Titan. Does it cost extra money to get to that point? Hell yes. Is it an awesome hobby? Hell yes. I plan on putting an L blower together and slapping it on my truck. Sure it's a $3500 mod, but I'd just waste my money on some other stupid, far less manly thing. I knew nothing about trucks 2 years ago. If I'd have bought a Titan, I still wouldn't. 'Nuff said.

Have you driven one, it may change your tune a little...

What's that mean? You wouldn't have to mod it to get the power you're looking for?

My truck is made in Dearborn. And yours made in America as well. I get that.
I did not put your truck down. Nor did I ask "what can yours do that mine cant". I simply said the style of your truck looks to foriegn or "jappy" for my tastes. The Ford may be guilty of looking to tough & domestic for yours. I am ok with that too. I understand your truck may go down the 1/4 mile quicker. But I didnt buy my truck for 1/4 mile. Thats what my 04 Mach 1 is for .
The Mach looks American too. Maybe soon Nissan will claim they have 100% all amercan Pony car as well. Bottom line is, If Nissan & Toyota want to compete in the traditonal car & truck buyer market, They and their buyers will have to accept they may be unaccepted by the "loyalests".

I've driven plenty of others, but everyone knows Fords are slugs. If yours is fast, then you've done something right. It's the same reason I don't like mustangs, they are fast to begin with. If I can get my big retarded bus moving faster than someone's Ram then don't you think they feel stupider than if I'd beaten it with something that came fast off the line?

No, I don't think I would have. I had no experience with working on cars before my truck (I had an Audi that I didn't touch), because I never had to wake up a vehicle before. I'd work on a Titan if I bought one now, but not if I'd have gotten one instead of my Ford.

BTW, If anyone thinks they're gonna find people bashing Ford instead of Blue Ovalists on this site then they're crazy. To each his own, I'd never buy a Titan, but I'm not you.

Haha, this pretty much sums it all up. The "loyalest" may be just an uninformed stubborn idiot, who knows...

Ok...I see your point...Believe me, I don't think the F-150 is too muscle-y. I think it's an awesome looking truck. A lifted F-150 is one of the nicest looking trucks on the road...take Josiah's for instance

UCF....I see your point as well. I did a lot of modding to my 03 and had 2 Hemi Kills...it was no sloutch, and I had fun doing it. Good job of getting under the hood and getting some grease on ya...

I think Ford will be taking a great turn for the better now that the tree-hugging CEO is stepping down. Mr. Ford did a number on the company's reputation and I'm glad he's going...but I guess that is for another thread...

Yeah...I agree about Mr. Ford as well. Like you said...different thread.
I guess nobody can really go wrong with any fullsize truck they buy. Todays trucks are the best they ever been in terms of power, reliabilty, drive quality and interior appointments. God, my dad has a 1982 F150 Supercab...when I get in it and look around Im like what the hell where they thinking??!! But then they where just for work. The truck has evolved into a daily driver, worker & family mover. The one you pick is just a matter a personal taste.
Enjoy your Titan

Thanks racefan...I love the competition, I think some of the innovative stuff that Ford brought to the table with their 04 model is great, and the Titan's benchmark was to be like the Ford in my opinion. They certainly done their homework and made a great first time fullsize truck. Chevy's new truck is going to have a killer drivetrain and a force to be reckoned with. Toyota's new engine that they are going to be putting into their Tundra is suppose to be a screamer...Dodge, well...I still don' have anything good to say about dodge..hahahahah. Just kiddin.

My point is, I don't put down these other trucks because if Ford was the only game out there, their trucks wouldn't be nearly as good and tuff as they are. I have a 88 F-150 that I still drive, and a 83 Toyota that I use for hunting and a little bit of rock crawling...still going strong.

It's kinda funny really. I go over to the Titan forum and take up for the Ford half the time then I come over here and defend the Titan....I must like the punishment or something...

enjoy your F-150

I just have to mention that this thread was originaly about a guy who raced a RAM and he won with some mods and wanted to know what we all thought. Some how as in most of these discussions we ended up talking about the Titan. And when ever we talk about the titan things always go bad. So lets get back to the point and stick with talking about the performance of are trucks and how we try to improve it.

Thanks

I just wanted to know if the $1000 or so was money well spent?

I pretty much have the same mods that you do except the tuner. I love it. Everytime I drive my truck I just have a big smile on my face from the extra power and the sound. So yes I think the extra 1000 is a good addition.
