Im not too sure if you have been outside the ford dealership to actually price things out, but they all cost about the same. I know the nissan was abit more than the ford.I really LOVE this quote by Josiah, and couldn't agree with him more.

There are many 1/2 tons that can outpull us so thanks for sharing your complaints, maybe Ford will fix it before it's time for me to get a new truck. Unless there is a huge change in the F150's (powertrain) I'm not coming back...and I probably won't be looking back either. Sure the interior is fantastic but as it wears off I find myself in envy of a diesel and a ton more power. Maybe I'm getting to used to the lack of lowend, gears might do the trick but are sure to kill my highway mileage. I'm less than happy with the way the 5.4 has responded to boltons so if you are looking for any decent results, forced induction is the only way to go.
Speaking of mileage, the only reason I get fantastic mileage is by allowing truckers to pass. I dont think you should pay extra to keep up the F-150's name...I made that mistake 10-fold in modding this 5.4 3v slug. I would have been able to live with a 4 speed tranny and a beefier engine, or this engine and a 5 speed...but they had to give us the double reacharound.
What are your mods atm? Way to keep your composure btw, this forum is full of lamers ready to attack the disappointed.

Yea I would not do that either, unless you want to loose. Like I said many times before, my old 2000 grand cherokee limited with just the 4.7v8 with 235 h.p. would run away from my 2004 lariat pulling the same trailer and same load.
I am not sure if its the same but in every other I have ever owned if you put the gear selector in "2" it will still start in 1st then shift to second....I am pretty sure these trucks are the same way.

I know its kind of off topic but while we're talking about the competition. I ended up racing a GMC 2500 dualie with the Duramax. I felt bad for him afterwards. He managed to keep his front bumper at my rear wheels but seeing as I'm on 20x10s wrapped up in 37x13.50, thats sad!!
Religious anti oval guys that own fords. I think the point is that the ford 5.4 is an awesome engine. Unfortunatly it doesn't have the power as some of the other guys with the LARGER engines. Are trucks weigh more yet have less power. The Religious oval guys don't care if the truck is underpowered they just think or "believe" that the ford rules all regardless of the facts. I do have to mention that if they don't believe in the facts then say usually change the subject and start talking about towing, or looks, or anything else they can think of.
In the real world people can be happy about the trucks they bought but also discuss some of the negatives. The Negative being the F150 is underpowered when compared to some of the competition.
In conclusion I do love my truck. And I love hearing that with only a couple of mods I can take a Ram (stock). Because kicken *** rules!

And scandall, I agree. It's a nice truck, I would never say otherwise. But it's not enough "c*ck and *****" as they say in Road Trip. Also note "thetruthabouttrucks.com" doesn't even touch the topic of power. Good move or they'd have ripped on the sites credibility.

I don't know of anyone who bought their Dodge, Nissan, Toyota or Chevy because it was fast. They bought it because they couldn't afford a Ford!

WOW, what a statement. I bought my Titan because it was a lot more bang for the buck. Some of the upgrades are stock spray-in bedliner, automatic slide down rear window, tow mode at the push of a button, when I'm walking up to my truck I hold down the unlock button for 5 seconds and the front windows roll down automatically, Tailgate assist let down (not sure what they really call it) but when I pull the handle I can let go and it comes down real slow, tons more room in that back seat of the Crew cab, back seats go up or down for storage or loading, 5 speed auto tranny and did I mention--it will flat out smoke stock for stock an F-150. All this stuff was beyond what the similar model (XLT) Ford offered and for $8000 dollars less. I drove both and it was a no-brainer....I loved my 03 Ford and you'll never hear me talking crap about Ford, but when statements like your's above are made I get a little offended.
Oh yeah, with the $8000 I saved on the truck, I've put a 6" lift, and 35's and still have money to spare. Exhaust and Intake are next....
Some folks want to talk about religious oval guys. Well it's time to turn the tables. How about the religious anti oval guys? It is actually childish to listen to the religious "anti oval guys" go on and on about "no power." But when you question them on it, they say it has a "bit" of power...but not as much as Titan. That's funny. Power is the capability of doing or accomplishing something. What does the Titan have the ability to accomplish that Ford cannot? The test of a real truck is how it handles towing, hauling and working hard. Nobody can touch a Ford truck. It can pull the house off your foundation! Titan is still playing catch up and puts very little effort and focus on making a real full size work truck that can work hard and actually be around for awhile. In conclusion, Ford is more powerful, Ford is stronger, Ford is more luxurious, Ford has more options, and Ford is a real man's work truck. Thank you, and god bless Ford.

Amen my brother, Ford is the Almighty no one can touch it. The Ford will rule over all others.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not believe in false manufactures there numbers about performance/ power are lies. It is the Devil trying to corrupt you. Come back my friends for Ford will take you in and heal you of all your sins. Remember "FAITH" is the only way that we can get through this together. "FAITH" that Ford is the king and nothing else competes. Only with this FAITH will we truly survive.
P.S. If I was really into towing I would of bought a 250 or 350. But like alot of people I rarely tow. Also I think people mention that the F150 has some power is because.......................guess what????? we own Fords and even though we don't mind talking about some of are grieves we want the best from are trucks and like to think highly of them.

On paper the Titan & Tundra sound great with their features. But they both look to "jappy". Domestic trucks look solid and perform that way. That is why overall, they remain the choice of the traditional buyer. And always will.
Personally, I would have trouble pulling into a construction site with a foriegn "truck".
