straight axle !!!!

im getting the itch to maybe swap out my front end and put in a straight axle....... i mean it couldnt be more then the 12 inch rize kit....... and all the stuff that goes along with ifs..... i really want height..... and im really craving to put some 40+ inch tires under her......

this place i know less then 30 mins from me Chucks Trucks does alot of this work and im wondering if this is the way to go or get a 12 inch rize? i really dont see how a ifs can hold 12 inches of travel? but ya im just waiting and reading all the stuff i see on here i like the 8 inch lifts but its not enought height.....

i love the stance of that chevy and the height is just orgasmic.........

but is it worth the money to put in it or am i just crazy ? anyone else on this line of thought?

Personally, I think you're crazy. I like smaller lifts, but that is just tooooo much. It looks stupid IMHO. But hey, to each his own. If you like it, do it...I'm not the one that has to pay for it or climb in it every day!

why would you want a leaf spring setup in the front?? You will have a horrible turning radius, and if you use the truck as a daily driver it will be a PITA... Best thing if you want to do a strait axle would be like the 05+ superduties and fab a 4 link..

Yes, leafs up front is oldschool, test drive an 04 F-250, and then test drive an 06 F-250, and you will know what I mean..

superduty.

converting a newer truck is a complete waste of money. yes itll be likley more than the rize 12", and have fun finding someone competent to do the work right.

I guess so he would be able to walk under it and look at all the problems firsthand.

How much money do you really want to spend?

A straight axle might look cheaper to do but once you start adding up all of the parts you're going to be in some serious coin. However if you really do want to straight axle it, four link the front and rear with coilovers. .

what an idiot, if you want a starting point for a badass 4x4 what the hell are you buying a half ton truck for?

get an F250 which already has a straight axle and go from there...

it would be a complete waste of money to try to mod an F150 to get it to the point you are looking to take it
