The space under the center seat is where I put this a couple years ago...

It's worked great. I made the 12" downfire sub box easily removable for when I need all six seats. I made a recess on the top of it too to keep my gun, wallet, etc... from sliding off while in the mountains or on quick turns...

Depends on your individual state laws.

In Colorado, a car/truck is an extension of your house, and concealment is ok. In fact, it's recommended so that your vehicle isn't broken into. When I've been pulled over, I just tell the officer that I do have a weapon, and then ask him if he'd prefer to get it, or have me do it. I've had one cop ask me to go ahead and remove it, one cop ask me to just leave it alone. In 13 years, I've only had one cop be kind of odd about it, and he just took it, ran the serial numbers, and then gave it back to me.

For those in CO, here's a link...

Jeez all you guys storing weapons under that seat. I feel so inadequate for keeping a lousy tow strap under there!

Just saw this on my way to bed, so real quickly...I didn't write any dimensions down when I built it. I just measured the space I had to work with, along with possible angles, and then built a box to fit it. I used marine carpet to cover it, and shoved a 12" Rockford sub in it. It's not the ideal box for the 12", but it works well enough to feel the bass in your chest and infinately better than the crappy audiofile sub system. I'm thinking I only have about .6 cu ft of airspace, but not sure.

I did end up flipping the amp upsidedown, which is supposed to be a no-no due to poor cooling, but I decided to risk it. It just fit better. 18 months later, and it's doing fine. I also had to elongate the center seat mounting holes to slide the seat back about 1/2" because my box actually came out slightly larger than I had thought I was making it.

There is a rubber grommet underneath the driver side door, so I ran both my 10 ga. wires up through it from the engine compartment, and under the carpet to the center seat area.

Sorry I can't be more help tonight. I'm heading to the lake for a couple days early in the morning, but if you'd still like me to measure it when I get back, I'd be happy too.

You should be ok in Arizona also. Most Officers wouldn't feel threatened by a weapon being there. By the time you fold up the arm rest, jerk hard on the center seat, remove the weapon from the holster or carrying case, he would have shot you 4 times, cleaned his weapon, and had a cold drink.

Just to be safe, tell the Officer and make sure it is a case or holster.

if you get pulled over grab the gun out of there and set it on the dash, you will get in alot more trouble if he finds it in there, in az

and for those with the consoles there kinda is a secret compartment that might hold a gun well grab the big cup holder and pull it up, there are holes in th bottom so it cant hold tiny things but some one might like to knowthis

That would be a great way to get pulled out of the car and handcuffed...or shot.

Usually they ask if you have any weapons or anything like that before they search. I say, if they don't ask and they don't search they don't need to know.

I'm just hopeful that all this talk will make my 20 seat more valuable on eBay if I decide to swap for a console!

Yea I wouldn't recommend that action either...

However the cup holders in the center console pull out or is this only in the units that don't have the flow through console?
