plastic screws
plastic screws
I am trying to remove the fan/belt cover to open up the engine bay some more. The 6 or so plastic screws that hold the thing on...only one screw came out, the rest just spin. Any trick to getting these out?
Thanks
Thanks
nevermind....hold a flat screw driver under it while using a phillips to unscrew the screw. I just was trying to avoid breaking any thing

You do know that the fan shroud is actually a pretty important part of the cooling system don't you? It helps the fans efficiency by causing it to pull air through the radiator rather than from around it. When electric fans are added most have a small shroud around them but they are also a lot closer to the radiator than the factory fan....thats why you can remove the shroud when your running electric fans. I am not sure how much it will hurt the cooling system but I wouldn't think its worth taking it off just to clean the engine bay up a little.
I don't think he's removing the shroud itself, I think he's removing the cover that goes over the shroud on the core support, the thing that has the underhood info, emissions stuff, vacuum diagrams, etc.

Yes, Allow my self.... to correct myself.....I was just removing the very top horizontal plastic piece that covers the top of the radiator. I left on the cover that actually covers the fan itself. I just want the engine bay to look less plastic-y and more open like the old muscle cars

OK...that makes a lot more sense to do!
