Fog Light Question

Ok so one of my foglights bulbs has totally blew up. What could have caused this? And is it hard to take out the fog assembly cause now i have peices of glass all in my foglight

Have you ever pulled them out before... sometimes if you touch these bulbs with your bare hands the oils from your fingers will cause the bulbs to explode like that.

well this isnt the stock one. i had to replace it cause it went out.

And if you get water in there by not having a good seal will do about the same thing.

It doesn't matter if it's stock or not... as long as it's a halogen bulb. If you touch the glass with your fingers it will more thanl likely pop. Use gloves to install them.

well i did have moisture in there, i wonder if warranty would replace that.

This is what happend to mine during a week of rain...

The remedy --- replace the bulb (duh) and then put a very small bead of silicone around the area where the bult actually goes into the housing. Don't glop it on as you'll have trouble getting it out of there when it burns out again.

dont the oils on you skin pop halagen bulbs??
