Cheap/Free Modifications

The weather is finially getting nice in Michigan and I want to work on my truck more and more. However, since I am a cheap a__ I don't want to spend allot of money. I need some ideas. So lets see your cheap and/or free mods. I am thinking under $50.

shorter antenna

just take off your antenna and cut it the the size you want. you can take the little ball off the top by heating it up and pulling it off. use some kind of glue and stick it back on the top of your shorten antenna put it back on the truck.. stubby antenna done. you might want to hit it with some spray paint if you scratch the antenna up or the ball.

New rims - Buy your favorite color of spray paint and go crazy at your rims. Black for that black on black look. White for the oldies or anodized green for that new age look. Your choice, under 20 bucks to boot.

Paint the inside of the rear wheel wells black. Looks alot better than the factory overspray of the original color.

LED Light bar

I added this to my truck. It cost me like $55 after shipping and all. I have gotten several compliments on it since I installed it.

You can pull out the indexing key on the drivers side wiper arm so you index the arm up a notch or two to eliminate that 4 inch area that doesn't get touched on the upswing of the wipers. Since you live in snow country, this mod will definitly come in handy during another blast from old man winter.

This only works with the XLT alum wheels. I painted the gray spokes black. I think it looks better on almost any color truck since there is so much black trim on the trucks. Pics are in my gallery which can be accessed by clicking on my sig. The gray on the wheels looks great on a silver or gray truck, but with most others, it just looks blah to me.
