I've done a few of those mods mentioned and some others: wiper index, silblades, 3m rubber undercoating in rear wells, cut antenna, RP emblem, silverstar signal bulbs, silencer removed, K&N drop-in, poly bushings up front and they all worked out well for me. Another one that goes about $50 is the GAP insert or a Roush lower grille if you can find one on ebay. I don't see anything wrong with cleaning up the appearance or functionality with cheaper mods. Mods of cheap taste, well that's each to his own and maybe what kickass was gettin at. If you pay the bills and you like it, do it.

I do want my truck to look like a show truck. Ill admit that. Who dosent want their truck to look like a show truck. But there is no doubt that I go offroading and I am not a poser. Ill admit that I didnt buy the lift and tires to specifically go offroading. It was part of the reason but not all. I can guarantee you more than half the people who lift these f150s dont lift it to go offroading. Just cuz you lift it dosent mean you do it cuz you offroad so much. I have heard lifting it can sometimes make offroading more difficult. I lifted mine cuz it looks damn good and cuz offroading is frickin fun as hell.

If I had a reason to get 11 mpg I would do that to my truck too, well hell, if I had the money I would do that.
I dont know why this thread got out of hand. Is stating your opinion really that immature? I have already said that I didnt mean to offend anyone when I criticized their mods.

What has gotten into you guys, there are a LOT of tacky mods that are under $50. Don't blame your wallet on bad taste. My internet lost it's connection when I hit submit, so I'm sure some of you guys have posted most of these mods. I only just now got back from the movies (United 93 was downright moving) and had this list copied on wordpad. Obviously my connections working again, if you want any pics of my top 10 let me know.

Josiah's (joe-sigh-uh) Top Ten Under $50 Mods:

1. Hi-beam w/Foglights mod - $2 - Easy
2. Mark LT Shifter Swap - $20 - Moderate
3. Clear Corners - Free - Moderate
4. Chrome Signal Bulbs - $12 - Easy
5. 4x4 Overlay for 3rd Brakelight - $10 - Easy
6. RP's 4x4 Tailgate Emblem - $20 - Easy
7. Bedlights from Oznium - $50 - Moderate/Tricky but time consuming
8. Removed Rear Cats - $50 - Moderate
9. Ford Emblem Overlays - $20 - Easy
10. Custom License Plate "GET STUK" - $40 - Easy

KiCk *** FX4,

It got out of hand - and you've been befittingly attacked - because you came on here riding on your high horse, slinging your guns around and openly critising anyone and everyone who had and/or was interested in "cheap/free modifications" because YOU thought they were tacky.

Are you for real?!?!?

Who the hell are you to say or chastise one man's modifications on his/her truck because it doesn't rock YOUR boat?!?!? LMFAO!

The truth be known, I didn't agree with several modifications suggested on this thread either, but I would never point the finger and criticize these people for THEIR preferences. FFS, it's their ride . . . let em' do whatever it is that pleases them. The saying "to each their own" fits like a glove to the gist of this thread; the sad thing is, everyone here seems to get that . . . except you!

Like one person said, I also had much respect for your views/opinions prior to this BS thread .. ... .. ... ..

Im sorry for stating my opinion on these mods. I never directed them at anyone personally just the mods. Someone has to agree with me that some of these mods are crap. Thats all Im trying to say. This is what this damn forumn was for. If I state the truth I am sorry. Someone had to do it. I am sure some of you agree with me but didnt want to say it. I will admit, half the time on here I lie about how good someones truck looks. I am sure you do. If someone posted a pic of their truck you wouldnt say "Hey your truck looks like ****!! Nice Job!" even though it does. I tried not to criticize anyone personally on here just these mods in general. I am sorry if I came across that way.

That's interesting...

If you don't like someone's mods, why would you go through all the time and trouble of posting at all, especially just to lie and say you do?

No, this forum is to tell the guy some good mods for under $50, and you come in and bust ***** for opinions. Lets drop this, we know what kind of guy you are now, so lets get back on topic here and give the nice man what he wants to know.

Maybe there needs to be a thread "Cheap/Free Modifications, and keep your opinions to yourself".

OMG this is so much drama its funny. everyone has their own opinion on what he or she likes and lets leave it at that. Lets get back to the topic at hand. People can pick what mods they like or don't like.

You're digging yourself deeper and deeper.

Like Ernster500 said, why on earth would you even tell someone their truck looks good [lie] when you don't believe so? Why not just refrain from posting in that instance to avoid the person feeling bad about their ride?

I'm stumped towards your state-of-mind.

No I don't. I "refrain from posting in that instance to avoid the person feeling bad about their ride."

Some of the mods on here make me think to myself "Why on earth would he/she do that?", but I would never say so.

One Man's Home is Another Man's Castle.

I just think, overall, you've approached this thread with good intentions but poor wording. Very poor.

Safe driving.

I see what you are saying and I agree but i think this forum shouldnt be just for positive criticism. Sorry if I offended anyone. I was just saying I think most of these types of mods are lame. I am sure most of you agree. i might have came off too harsh. sorry. Ill try to keep my negative comments to myself from now on.
