went mudding for the first time

its rained for several days out here in the midwest so i figured after 5700 miles of smooth pavement it was about time to take the truck in the mud. ive now got a truck thats caked in mud and im wondering what the most economical way to get it clean is. i went through an auto wash hoping that the undercarage spray would get the chunks to fall off but it bairly fazed it. some people say auto washes drive dirt and rocks in the finnish, is this true? i dont want to sound dumb asking these questions but ive never had to deal with something this dirty. im used to my old bmw and my firebird that i can just hand wash polish wax exc.... any advice would be helpful. im already adicted to offroading and i want to keep my truck looking its best.

Whoa, this is crazy. What part of Iowa are you from? Im from the northewest (Remsen) and i too just took my truck out mudding last night for the first...AND LAST time haha.

My tires are shot and its been raining for 3 days straight soo me and my buddy just out booze cruising and i turned onto a dirt road and there was no backing up....hammered down and crawled through.

I spent 2 hours this morning with a garden hose in the rain washing the undercarrage of. I couldnt get it all off. This will be the last time i take it off road like that. Ah, hopefully it warms up, shes waiting for a full detail.

Try putting a sprinkler underneath the truck for a few hours, moving it every so often. Than, grab some goggles and crawl underneath the truck for some fun. Its a lot easier with a pressure washer!

PS: My new truck is NOT touching mud. I'll go offroad but its not going in the mud.

Just make sure you try to get all of the solid mud off of the vehicle before you take a mit to the paint. This is why I like the pressure washer because you can stand back and get the solid mud off of the truck.

it will take a long time to get it fully clean. I went mudding months ago and chunks of mud are still hiding under my truck.
