LOL.. I had my own adventure in the midwestern mud this last week. I had to go get new plates for the truck. I decided to do this over my lunch hour. My work is in one of those new industrial parks out in the middle of no where, and of course to get to the courthouse there is no quick way except to head there via the dirt roads. No sweat, I grew up on a ranch and drove the back roads all the time.
Took off down the back road, and it was raining pretty good at the time, but the road was rocked pretty well, so was just cruising along. I make a turn onto the road leading to the highway that runs by the courthouse. I find that they are starting a new development in one of the fields there and have been running dump trucks etc all up and down this road. It is torn up something fierce, and big mud puddles everywhere. No sweat, been doing this most of my life.
So I am heading down the road, kinda cruising along about 30 MPH and having no problems getting thru the slop when I see this guy in a little white car heading the opposite direction... The dude is absolutely flying, and right in the middle of the dirt road. About 400 feet in front of me, he suddenly hits this slop I have been plowing thru, and completely looses control and spins so he is sliding out of control right towards me. I am looking at him siding towards me on my side of the road, and think to myself that my only option other then T-boning this guy in the drivers side door is to hit the ditch. I swerve towards the ditch, and find some of that slippery clay crap and start sliding myself. Of course I was in 2 wheel drive at this point (it’s not been that bad at all till this point) and the rear end started to walk a little bit when I goosed the throttle. The ditch is full of water, and thick mud which grabs my passenger side and starts to whip the truck around the other way. In the mean time I am cursing and trying to hit that damn tiny little 4X4 selector ****, and steer at the same time. I finally get the 4x4 selected, and out of the corner of my eye see one of those big metal power line poles coming up fast. The 4x4 catches just in time and I was able to correct the slide and straighten the rear end out just barely missing the power pole. I churn thru the mud / water and get back up onto the main part of the road and come to a stop.
Mud was absolutely everywhere, muddy water all over my windshield (nice amount of dirty water in that ditch). I glanced back in my mirror looking for the dumba$$ in the car and see him sitting there in the ditch. I got turned around and went back to him to see if he needed help, and found him still sitting there looking like he needed some new pants. I ended up having to pull the kid out (high school kid and his buddy decided to go mudding in their Mom’s Lexus.)
I got back to work and the boss could only shake his head at the big muddy truck sitting right in front of his shiny new building. I had grass chunks and mud every where.
The sprinkler method works pretty well, and the power washer method seems to get a lot of it out as well
Geez… wrote a novel.

It is hard on the truck and harder on you to clean it.
I combine an off-road trail with some mud holes (not deep mind you) and I left with scratches and caked mud that took months to get clean.
But wow was it fun and I'm going memorial day weekend and doing it again.
The sick part is, I detail and wax the truck before I go and then have to do it again. I tell myself the wax helps protect it.
This picture is getting old but hopefully I have new ones in a month or so

Sound like a hell of a day for you. Who would take a lexus out to play in the mud except kids. Yep got my share of mud a while ago.
