Just happened to break itself (God forbid this is not the only problem). Definitely a bummer. I'm going out there right now to pull it and see if I can fix it, could just be something blocking the tubes inside.

Wow, I was wrong and ordered the wrong part. Will have to cancel it tomorrow. My Vacuum Solenoid is working fine, what I did was hook up the two prongs to the positive and negative on my battery and I could hear the cut off move up and down, when there was power to the Vacuum Solenoid I could blow through the god damn prong/valve, which means it works. This leads me to believe there is something wrong with the power actuator/cable that connects to the PCM, the PCM is what enables or disables power to that cable (both power and ground cables go to PCM). Tomorrow I am going to try and follow that wire back to the PCM and see if there is something wrong, possibly even replace the wire (splice into the end closest to the pcm and run the wires back to the battery to test the entire wire from the PCM back to the vacuum solenoid). When the truck is running (and in 2wd) it should apply power to that cable but there is no power at the vacuum end
I am hoping there is nothing wrong with my PCM and it's only that cable.

I am desperate for help, I hate shops, they are always trying to overcharge someone my age. I dress like crap in my mechanic outfit and go into shops.

Around here it is 600 to 700 for a lift install. And to be honest all of this would have still been an issue.

Yes, Josiah would not have had to deal with this, but the truck would still be down. Which is ultimately his issue.

I know you guys who paid for your lift install feel good about it, but are you planning on keeping your truck for a while or do you have enough disposable income to trade up every year. Because, if anything goes wrong after a while the shop that lifted you isn't going to fix it for free. Your issue will be that you won't know what's wrong with your rig because you didn't see it installed. Then you will pay someone to work on your truck again. Kind of see where I am going with this.

If you have some HELPFULL INFORMATION to add let's hear it other wise why don't you post on another thread your more comfortable with, like spending money on repairs you don't have a clue about. I had the money for the install but I plan to keep my truck a long time and wanted to know what I was doing to my truck so down the road I have a clue.

Josiah, GREAT picture and diagram. I will be checking that as well. Something isn't sucking as it should from BEFORE my lift.

Don't say that...he'll get it worked out. That's how you become good at things, by doing it. Sometimes it's hard to see something obvious when you're wrapped up in it.

Does somebody must have the maintenance/repair book or CD.? They usually have a pretty good troubleshooting flow chart. I haven't picked one up for this truck yet, but always did before for my Broncos etc. Hubs not disengaging, check this, this, oh the switch wasn’t turned off! My bad...

It all worked before the install, I wouldn't just start ordering parts.

The maintainence/troubleshooting for the electronic 4X4 is all done w/ scan tools and break out boxes... or I would have posted it.

Thanks a lot Thrill, and thanks to the rest of you. I hope to get through it, and if it's $300 to have it installed I'm taking out the gun. I am going camping @ a wheeling spot tonight and hope nothing goes wrong. I have my front driveshaft installed (it's been keyed and rebalanced). I have a horrible clanking when in 4wd (but not when out of it) as if the driveshaft is hitting something every revolution, or maybe it's binding up. I am really at the breaking point to just bring it in. I'm on a site paying for advice from Master Tech's (no offense to you Baja or any others), and I'm still not getting where I want to be. The coilovers are not cranked very high at all, maybe it's because it's too low? I would like to get the clanking out of the way by myself and then go ahead and take it in somewhere. It's a real bummer knowing I am probably going to have to pay for something that should have never happened, and I could have saved myself the hassle of doing the lift with this money. :o

Thanks for the help and keep it coming, I'm taking everyones advice.

Edit:
I just remembered to ask, which way does your front driveshaft go (which side of the truck is that rubber sleeve on the shaft closest to)

Josiah,

The rubber part of the front driveshaft goes towards the rear. So the Non-rubber end connects to the front differential.

I second what TTSaleen said. (BTW TTS you don't have a twin turbo Saleen do you?)

Josiah, even if you think you should have paid to have it installed and admit it to us, there's nothing worse than somone saying "I told you so" after the fact.

If you paid to have your lift installed... FINE, keep it to yourself. You don't need to pour salt in Josiah's wounds! Give the guy a break... talk about kicking a guy when he's down!

Hey Josiah, have you ever seen the movie Cape Fear w/ Robert Dinero? Remember when he strapped himself to the bottom of that vehicle with his belt? That's what you need to do and have someone drive your truck so you can see what's going on down there. I'm sure you know that's a joke.

I don't know why you're having so many problems man and I don't know what that "clunking" sound can be. Did you have the front driveshaft installed in the right direction? Put the truck in neutral (w/ engine off), get under it and roll it and see if it looks like the shaft or CV's are binding... they shouldn't be if the CO's aren't cranked too much.
