Not to bust anyones bubble, but I haven't heard anything about this and a co-workers brother works at Ford EMDO and we gave him a call and he says this thing hasn't been through there yet.

So if it is coming it will be a while.

Sorry...

Ford EMDO = Ford Engine Manufacturing Development Operations

Everything at Ford is an acronym!

Like I said over in gd, This engine should have already been an option for the 06 F150.

Nice post Moutaineer. I guess we can keep you around a little longer -- even though you just C&P'd it here... none the less though, you added some value to your worth.

When is the re-desine of the F-150?? Is it around '08? That would mean that the new engine will be in a new truck....

This is very good news. Not only does Ford need a more powerful engine, they need it to be adaptable enough to be used across the product line (like the Hemi). It would be great to see this new 6.2 in other vehicles like the Mustang, a redesigned Crown-Vic (so needed), the 500, Expedition, and others.

he's probably playing the "I don't know anything" angle as part of his job. Ford PR already released this information to the press.

By the time ford gets this engine out, dodge and chevy will be updating their big bore engines and once again leaving ford behind.
