6 inch lift plus 35" tires=what gearing?

With a 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires would my 3.73ls gears be good enough? Or would i need 4.10's or higher? Answer could be different between getting the lift and tires. I already have the leveling kit!

4.56 and 35s will be close to stock; 4.88s a bit lower (higher rpms) and more grunt.

ive got 35s and the 3.73 and it works fine for me. 35s would work either way but if your go any larger gears would be essencial.

Yeah your one of the ones i was hoping would respond does you truck feel a lot more sluggish at all? Also do you think you would get better gas mileage with say the larger gears with 35's compared to the 35's with stock gearing.

It was REALLY sluggish before I got the Edge but now it feels as fast as stock if not faster. Im not sure about the mpg for 35s+ gears and stock wheels + stock gears. but right now my mpg is REALLY bad. last time i calculated it it was 11.05

35" tires and 4:56 gears pretty much brings it back to stock. It's what I am running and would recommend the same.

I really don't feel my truck is that slow with the factory 3.73 LS and Edge. . However, I can only imagine what it'd be like with a set of 4.56s.

Basically; If your set on getting gears and you'll be running 35s, than grab some 4.56s.

Technically speaking. Going up in tire size is the same as going down in gear ratio. Therefore, if you keep your stock gears and run larger diameter tires you should increase your fuel economy. However the weight of the larger tire comes into play and the power to turn the extra weight. Also, usually when your tires get taller they also get wider so you have more frictional drag. When you add all this together you'll probably get "roughly" the same fuel economy.

Any time you increase your gear your going to decrease your fuel economy. There's no arguing about this.

Let's see. 32" Tire and 3.73 Gears Stock. Why does everybody on this post think you have to go to 4.56 Gears to bring it back to stock. Actually. 4.10 Gears bring it back to stock with 35" tires. And, if you go to 4.56 Gears, you will get lots of low end torque; but, will be unhappy when you get to top end. It won't be there unless you add a blower. Go to this link:

Im not so sure about that, I've been on PLENTY of websites that stated 4.56s would bring it back to the stock ratio.

I have 4.56's with 33'S and have no problem getting to 120+ MPH fast. so as far as the top end goes with 35's ???. Also someone said gas mileage would go down alot! I went from 16.5 MPG to 15.5 MPG and have tons of extra power now. It all depends on your setup as a whole. Also to keep your ratio the same as stock with 35's 4.30 gears are the ticket but they are not available for 4X4's yet.

The web has plenty of accurate info and plenty of inaccurate info; however, the gear ratio calculator sites will all show the same data. From size / gear and to size / gear. Also, two different shops in my area told me the exact same thing. Could it be that they are all wrong.. Dunno. I am not the expert.

That works on paper but not when you're driving down the road.
I have 3.73's and 35's. I lost about 5mpg when I lifted my truck.
When I added the edge I gained around 2.5-3 with custom tunes on level 3.
I get around 15 mixed city and highway.
