another edge ????

I installed my edge last night, this morning I drove out and on about 35 MPH, I floored my pedal and felt "thunk" coming from my rearend, no noise just sense via floorboard. It was defintely from the rear housing unit...did anyone experience this? I have 04 FX4 w/ 3.73 LS.

I do not see how in any way the Edge would have done this. I have not had one single issue with mine tune wise, or anything mechanically related from installing it. I would try searching the forum for rear end clunk or drive-train clunk

I'm with MoJoe on this one. There is really no way the edge could cause the rear-end to make a clunk. Are you sure it wasn't your transmission shifting down a little harder than normal since you were WOT?

Have you repeated this process with the truck set to stock?

Are you sure you did just feel the trans downshift hard (if it was from OD to 2nd thats a hard downshift)? The trucks making a few more HP so the shift down would feel a little harder...plus you were being super sensitive listening to it and playing with it since it was your first time out playing with it. Just a thought...

I would guess it could be magnifying a pre existing condition with the rear end since the shifts are harder.

Yeah but I think most people with the rear end clunk can feel and HEAR it. No sound makes me think its the transmission.

maybe I am being more sensitive with the unit. However I know this wasnt a problem before....now I think aobut it, it could be from tranny downshifting hard for that extra response needed to my WOT. I guess I wont WOT anymore. Just to side track a little from the subject, I am at level 2 and I'm not too pleased with the unit other than that digital gauges readouts. I mihgt have to try out level 3 in coming weeks, once my gas tank goes empty.

Be sure to adjust the settings from the out-o-the-box settings. You may have already done so, but if not you will see improvement. Also give a little time for your computer to learn the tune. I ran level 3 out of the box and use it for everyday driving with nothing but smiles on my face

If you're not pleased at level 2, you might as well sell it.

If level 2 did not make a huge difference in your truck, you either don't recognize the difference, or you have something connected wrong.

The difference in stock and level 2 is night and day. Level 3 is only better at high rpm's and may even be a little less "feeling" than level 2.

You are more than likely experiencing the tranny slipping into neutral before completing the "4-3-2" kick down shift.

I think you thought the tuner was going to make your truck feel like its supercharged. .

Did you adjust the unit yet? Or are you running the generic tune?

As soon as I got it, I updated both firm and calib to the latest. I think they were version 13 and 15a. Then I ran level 2 without any adjustment. I must tell you that as soon as I put my foot on the pedal it response which wasnt there before, but other than that not much to talk about yet.
