They are very small but they cost a penny to fix, the very reason I haven't.

And I am having an unbelievably bad experience dealing with customwheelsdirect.com. They are based in SoCal, I'd advise you not to work with them because if they've already made their purchase they are pretty stingy about refunding it. I just placed my order today. The situation is this: I ordered Mazzi Hulks, they said Hulks are out, but they have the exact same wheel from a different vendor who sells them for cheaper anyway, just not Mazzi. I took a look at the page with the wheel, it's the exact same. I forgot to ask about backspacing. Well I called back and asked to cancel my wheels upon finding out they have 5.5"-6" backspacing. He told me, "you're gonna have to figure out what you want to do, I can't just sell you the tires. It's a package deal." On their site I am paying the full price, $348/tire and he is telling me that is a package deal price, he is selling the tires to me below cost, they're losing money. So I'm supposed to believe they are making under $xx.00 or so for a near $3000 purchase. I am just pretty annoyed right now as I went ahead and kept my order. As soon as I mentioned I am going to need to cancel my tires, he started sighing and wimpering, "You're gonna cancel the wheels and tires?" "Why do you wanna do that?". I really enjoyed dealing with discounttiredirect.com and would do so if they had the tires. They were very polite and respectful, they returned my phone calls, they assigned a representative to me and I was able to call up all the time and talk about it.

He says they cost him $390/tire so he's losing money, where in the hell does he gain back that money. There is no way he makes that all back on the price of the wheels.

I may cancel my order from them, but I know I'm going to be given a hard time. Any advice on the quickest way to do so? I will gladly wait for discount tire direct to get the grapplers in, I'm not hassled for refunding or exchanging items and they're pretty quick, another place these guys fall short. Everytime I ask if they have something in, they take five minutes and put me on hold. Lastly, I asked about their return policy on the first call, they said it's a one way ticket. We pay $300 to ship it to northern california and if I return them it's another $300.

You need to get your lift installed! driving me insane can't imagine how it must be with it sitting around you! :P..

I was sorta wondering how controversy was going to spark in this thread (I tried to predict it was going to be because of the trees). I don't see how locking it into 4x4 once in a while is abused. Climbing a hill? If I fell into that lake, that would constitute abuse. If I was dragging burnt up cars on fire and doing donuts with them attached to my hitch, that would be abuse. I guess we just characterize abuse in a different way.

Oh and believe me JJ, it's killing me. It's funny calling you that, it's my [nick] name too.

It will be lifted of course and they're buying it that way for a reason.

You shouldn't have a hard time cancelling your order if you want to. Unless of course you've already paid for them with cash or a money order or something. I'm assuming that you most likely used a credit card? If they are still awaiting the product's arrival then they shouldn't have charged your card. Just tell them to cancel your order and then call your credit card company, explain the situation, and tell them not to authorize any charges that they may try to make. Good luck.

thats what I thought too until a guy in here did a car fax report for me. It was auctioned off at an Ohio auction, sold, towed up to Illinois where it was issued a new title and owner!

car fax did pick it up it as a Lemon, so who ever bought it must have got it really really cheep considering everything was wrong with that truck of mine

Nice vid. I wouldn't do that to my truck though. I'm OCD with my F150. BTW, the dude that was on the downhill side of the mudslide while you were driving by, is a complete moroon. He would have been killed if your truck would have rolled and flipped in the enbankment. Thats stupid.

I was just out your way today (Dublin), and boy do I have a story. Anyways, I never mentioned my tires, you are right it is amazing what they can get up! Your truck was very nice, wish my paint was like that. Maybe you can bring your products (I saw your post about how meticulous you are) and we can try them on my truck (I'll give ya gas money ;P). After that video my truck is significantly scratched, you saw how it was before, now imagine that worse. Don't get me wrong, I do take care of my truck, but I don't baby it. I wax it all the time (did today, turtle's rubbing compound, then polishing, then NXT and finished with turtle's carnauba wax. I didn't get the carnauba all over the truck, I had to meet some friends in dublin, but it didn't really help the scratches. I'd say it looks pretty good for what it went through the other day but it's still infested with swirls and the scratches are obvious. I'll pm you Eric.

Here is an image from the day you came down:

Link to description. I have the full image if you're interested, F150online resizes them. I'd post the video of us runnin'um but wasn't sure if you'd like that. I'll send it to ya either way. Take care.

Hey Josiah,

Why does Eric's truck look taller than yours in this picture. I saw that he has a 2" leveling kit, but it just LOOKS taller than 2". Was this picture taken on level ground?

Josiah your trucks paint didnt look to bad when I was there but I could come down and try to get the swirls and some of the scratches out some time. I,d like to see that video. I think you beat me by a few truck lengths, quite a diffrence from mine. I need a tuner now. Hopefully Ill get my exhust on this next week.
vjhpac, My truck did "look" a lot taller but that will change soon when he gets his 6" lift installed. but Im getting taller tires on mine also so maybe that will help.

Yeah, his truck did look significantly taller in the front, didn't notice it in the back. Here is the video, the audio doesn't capture the exhaust (once again). Or does it Eric? Sounds much louder to me at WOT but maybe you disagree. At the end of the video is a picture showing how his truck sits much higher in front.

Take care.
