And yes, prep work is key. Use a dish soap, or even acetone (test first to make sure it wont melt the plastic) with a scrubby pad. the interior was light gray before i did this.

I finally just removed the dash and replaced it with a fiberglass one so i could install gauges hooked up to real senders not switches like all ford trucks :/
