Another thing to check is see if the condensation drain is plugged. If it is it will leave moisture in the system and you will get mold/mildew.

Exclamation

OK. So, have we established that there is or is not one at least available? I would like to have one for my 05. I have pulled evaporators and heater cores out packed with dirt and dust. Think about it, it's just like your home system. It draws air from inside and outside. All this dirt will kill the efficiency over time.

i would like to have one too.

i just saw on driving television that there are filters with charcoal in them to remove pollutants and emissions from the air, along with particulate filters.

I'm standing here looking at a Fram "freshbreeze" cabin air filter(p/n CF8631A) for the 2004-2008 F150, where the hell does it go? My understanding is that these later models didn't come with them

I'm done dealing with autozone! The "kid" running around the store asking if I needed help looked this part up for me, told me it was for the 2004-2008 F150, I went home and called my cousin(Ford tech) and he said it was for 1997-2004(2004 heritage model) F150. Autozone even had it in the Fram filter guide listed as the 2004(new body style) cabin air filter

There is no cabin air filter used in the '04-'08 F150. There is/was a kit available from Ford to install one.

Did the LT's have them? If so you could probably get the parts from that. Same with dodge chargers. They dont have cabin filters but the 300's do. You can get the chrysler parts to put on on the chargers. Maybe there is hope because I just changed my wifes pathfinder filters and they were nasty.

This is lying and provocation that cabin air filter can not be installed on 2004-2008...I installed one: there is no special filter kit nor frame cutting edge pointed like in oldef model, but u still be able to cut and install it. I will post picture it's opening when I'll going to replace my. Idea is u need to cut ~3-5mm upfront the HVAC evaporator. Opening is around 180x20mm. I used fram filter cf10550 it fits perfect by wight but need to be cut by height. Please see pics below: cardboard is my dummy model I fit in HVAC housing to mesure empty space can be used by filter.
