Well for starters when i bought the truck they filled it up before i drove off. Then i drove it untill the light came on and maybe drove another 5 miles. So then i just divided the mileage by the size of the tank......but what is this i hear of resetting your cpu by disconnecting your battery? i had the terminal off a day or 2 after i got it shurely that wouldnt be the reason?
