Pulled the Trigger and Bought it...Train Horn Kit

Well after wanting it for a while I descided to go a head and buy it tonight before my 10% off Ebay/Paypal coupon expired (btw in case somebody doesnt have them....C1-HOLIDAY2005 is 10% off, C2-HOLIDAY2005 is $5 of $50 or more and C3-HOLIDAY is $15 off $100 or more). What do you guys think of this kit??? It should be pretty loud I would think. This will be an aux horn...I am leaving the regular horn hooked up of course.

Question for the guys that have one...where did you mount your tank and compressor and what kind of switch did you use to activate it? I wish I could find a button to use that would go where the cig lighter is.

Looks like a very good setup, a lot of setups have 150db capable horns with only 130psi tanks, this is a good match of the two. Let us know how you installed it, how difficult it was, and take some video's of the fun, will ya?

Around this area, there are several "Big" trucks with these horns mounted. All I can say is "Man, BE CAREFUL!!!" These things are NOT toys! They are quite capable of permantely damaging your hearing if you misuse them! There have been a couple of accidents in this area when someone turned them loose in traffic! The law really frowns on them and will write a ticket that'll scare ya!

That said, they WILL get the left lane opened up on the Interstates!!! Mount them facing forward and unblocked as much as possible. Pointing them at the ground muffles them far too much!

Good luck! Have fun!!!

2nd to what Flagship said. But forget about clearing the left lane, that thing will clear the entire side of the freeway

I still can't stop from laughing each time I click the horn sound link.

I work as a PR guy for the hospital (much less stress than when I was a Pharm. Rep) and I call on a lot of nursing home managers....I figure I could pull up to the front door (with about 20 residents on the porch) and give it a little toot to let them know I am there!!!

J/K of course.

Flagship what kind of tickets do they write....sound ordance or what??? Thanks.

Ditto that, I've been clicking the link all morning and smiling from ear to ear. I want one on my motorcycle....talk about a sleeper... "Oh Sh** what was that Henry?" OMG I can't stop laughing.

I was under the truck yesterday putting OEM tow hooks on and I am pretty sure there is room right under the radiator to mount them with the horns blowing through hole in the middle of the front bumper (I have a CW grille over it so you couldnt see them).

Here is a diagram I made to show how to switch back and forth between the stock and another horn and controlling them with the stock button. *I am assuming the new body style trucks have the same horn switch that just grounds the neg terminal of the horn relay*

My Dad had a set on his Peterbilt. Not really like that, his were just the horns that he hooked up to the trucks air system. Let me tell you that they were extremely large. I can only imagine that they will be that much larger with the compressor included.

They are also very loud. They will truly scare the crap out of most motorists on the highway.

man that must be sweet but I suggest you to be careful when to use it otherwise you ll be in jail or get sued!

A friend of mine who is a helicopter cop told me a while ago that he had a injury woman in 50's to the hospital by helicopter cuz she had a heart attack and the driver was in jail but bailed out and now process to sue him and possibly jail or community service time..

so please be careful...just want to warn you guys...

YOMAN!
