BedRuggers: Got any install tips
Finally got my BedRug today and thought I would see if anyone had any installation tips. I've already pulled the tie downs. Are there indentations in the bedrug so you know where to make the screw holes? If not, how did you guys mark the spots?
Any advice is appreciated.

Put the bolts back in the mounting holes. Once you get the bedrug installed (without velcro) feel for the bolts and cut a small hole. Then pull the side of the bedrug down and remove the bolts. Make sure you clean the areas where you are installing the velcro with alcohol. I installed mine in about an hour, taking my time. Good luck!

It took me forever because I'm an f'in idiot. I always think I'm too good for directions (the fact that I get most things correct on the first try, doesn't really help my crisis). Anyways, there are small indentations for the 2 screw holes, they're on the bottom of the bedrug, I drilled a hole through the bedrug in those places. Do NOT take the sticky 3m tape off after putting it on, I did not use alcohol to clean the places, just water, and if I messed up, when I went to put them back on they never stayed. I need to go get replacement velcro tape at OSH. Anyways, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS, stick the velcro in the right places on the bottom of the bedrug, and then place it in the bed with the sticky side still covered in the adhesive protectant, then start with one of the sides and start taking off the tape and pushing it into the bedside. It's a pretty easy install, just use your head, I was doing it at night with hardly any light, didn't look at the directions much, and in the morning, it showed.

Do it on a warm day, the sticky tape may not stick under 60 degrees or so. I see you're in SC, so shouldn't be too much of a prob. I used a center punch to poke the holes. Make sure the corners up at the cab are in the corners before poking holes. It's a pretty simple install, just take your time.

zip it all together first. add all the velcro stickies to the rug on the rug itself, then stick it in the bed. you'll be able to feel where the tie downs are if you left em in. work from the front and peel off the little red stickers all the way back to the tailgate. it helps keep things taught and they go in pretty easy.

So the indentations for the tie down screws are there so when you drilled the holes, that was at least one part you got correct?
Thanks for the tips.
Thanks for the tips.

AFTER I got the bedrug installed, I took 8 drywall screws, crawled under the truck, found the holes for the tiedowns and, using my fingers, screwed the drywall screws through the holes and through the bedrug. Then, from the top, I used a pen knife to cut holes for the bolts that hold the tiedowns. This let the screw fall out to the ground. I then put the tiedowns back. PICK UP THE SCREWS!!!!!

It sounds like the screw holes are already stamped on the bed side. I'll have to check that out. It would make since that they are there since it is a form molded piece.
