If you can't find one locally that you like, they should be able to search the surrounding dealers to see what they have in stock. If nothing shows up there, you should be able to order what you want.

 

i called ford this morning they told me to pick out whatever i want as long as it comes close to my msrp.doesnot mmatter to them if it a 05 or 06.so that s good i think i may go for the 06.what do you guys think?

 

I would pick an 06 strickly based on resale value.

I would go for the 06, just because there have been some of the same problems on the 04's that made their way into the 05's as well. So far, and yes, it hasnt been long, but the 06's seem to be issue free. Plus you would think after 3 model years, Ford would have the issues under control. So I say go for the 06...

well ,i went to the dealership tonight to pick out another truck.they had nothing on the lot 06 crews that i liked .was told i can either order one or let them try to do a search for one.I told them i would let them know what i wanted to do.i did also find out tonight that the trucks that i looked at were cheaper then the sticker on mine.talked to the service director says he can try to credit the differant with me if that would close the deal.I did drive a 06 while i was there and it was better then mine with power and idle,just didnt want it it had no option in it.will keep you updated btw.once i pick up a truck it take 10 days before its mine because of paper work that ford has to send..

 

shoeynne...do you still have your 04'? If so, do you get to keep it until you find a new one and all the paperwork is done and you can pick it up? Just curious, thats all. My truck is getting worse by the day. Im hoping the front end just falls out of it by the 20th. Then I can take it to the dealership on a flat bed

Hey Brew,

Here's my exp. on a "buy back"...I had an 04 supercab FX4 with the bad vibe. Problem started at 5,000 miles...at 15,000 miles they replaced: 3 drive shafts, 2 new rear ends, numerous tire balances and a set of dampeners. I was in about 5 diff. rentals (no cost to me-bought the ext. warr.). Truck was in shop about 10 diff. times. The eng. from Ford finally agreed to do a buy back after I refused a replacement.

At the time I needed a fuel eff. vehicle so I bought a Scion xB (loved it, but missed my truck).

I changed jobs again and I REALLY wanted a truck. Looked at all the options and everything pointed back to FORD. I bougt an 05 supercrew XLT 4x4 almost 2 weeks ago.

Long answer short...I kept mine until the check was sent to the dealership.

The best part about it was I MADE money on the deal since the only charged me for mileage from the original complaint at 5k miles and the way they SHOWED my trade as a $3,000 postive equity. But in reality I owed $1,000 more than what it was worth. I was happy with the check they sent in the mail to cover my "unrecoverable" mods like the window tint and stereo installation charges.

The down sides were the constant aggrevation of taking it back to the shop, wasting time at the rental place, numerous phone calls to Ford and the dealership.

I was hoping my new one wouldn't vibrate, but I put it in 4wd last week and it has started to vibrate between 45 and 70MPH. I plan on taking it in next week to have it looked at.

My truck is a 05 CREW,YES I KEEP IT TIL I FIND THE TRUCK I WANT AND THE PAPER WORK IS DONE.the service director told me that once i find a truck to my liking then it takes 10 days to get the paperwork in from ford then i give them my truck back minus the usage fee.

 

How is your case going with the bbb?you can see what going on with my deal.I have put my bbb case on hold.Ford is bascilly replacing my truck with another one.They are calling it a buyback but they will not cut me a check if i dont find a truck i want .thats ok though i love these trucks just not mine.will keep posted as always..

Congrats on the buyback, hope you find the truck and it works 100%. I just heard back from the BBB yesterday, my case worker was out for a few days. He told me he is reviewing my case and will contact me in a day or two and then contact Ford.
It would have been nice if Ford had just done a buyback on mine and not forced me into this process but the service guys at the dealership told me that the local Ford rep never authorizes buybacks as it looks bad on him.

 

Wentr back to the dealership yesterday found a truck i can deal with.Its a 06 blue crew.The dealership told me to take it for the weekend.on my way home i tried to see if it had more power then my 05 crew.Guess what the truck will leave rubber and get a little side ways.and it with squeal all three gears,the only differance in this 06 is that it has the 3.73 and my 05 has the 3.55.other then a little shimmy in the stearing( i think the tires are out of bal) the truck seems to be great.Btw th edealership also told me to come back down this weekend if i want to get another truck to drive for a day.so i m going back to get another one later...

Thats great they're letting you test drive a few different trucks. Don't sign until you are 100% satisfied with the new one.
