Back up alarm opinions/questions

I like this system:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Linco...spagenameZWDVW

The questions are:

1. Has anyone bought, installed and used this system?
2. Would you go with black or silver sensor? I have a Lariat superscrew with crome bumpers, so would the silver or black sensors look better?

Let me know what you think.

Chris

For that price I would worry about the quality of the product. I wouldn't want to drill holes in my bumber and 6 months later the system *****s out on me. Plus the stick on ones wouldn't last long in WI winters for myself. I'd be curous to know though, I could use it. I hate parallel parking that thing, especially with a lift. The tailgate is high enough stock. Another thing I didn't like was the ugly display, all I would want would be the number read out, not the gay lights with it. just my .02

Thanks for the comments. Would you put black or silver sensors in a chrome bumper?

Id get the black ones, then mount them in the black plastic to the left and right of the hitch area. I believe that is where the factory places 2 of them.

Where did you put your readout display? Have any pics?

I've been looking into this also...

Here's the most informative thread I've found to date:

These are good kits, haven't heard a complaint yet. Even comes with the drill bit to drill into your bumper. The image below makes me wonder how to get the wire above the headliner, I am guessing he just tucked it in around to his door and slid it under the A-pillar, anyone know for certain?

TXF150, I thought of doing that myself! How ironic. I think I am going to just get a backup camera when I get a head unit.

I went with 4 silver sensors mounted in the bumper. One of the sensors was dead right out of the box! Continuous beep when I put it in reverse! I had to leave it unplugged. The drill bit included is a POS , couldn't even make one complete hole before it died! You get what you pay for!

The link shown above is my truck. Got the eBay system from HK and *love* it. Works great!

As far as the comment about the bit, you do have to use it on a slow drill setting - back down the torque. Otherwise you'll need to go buy your own 22mil bit. I bought one at Lowe's before I ever started, but ended up using the included bit the whole way.

More info & pics

Thanks man.

I wanted it to look factory, and I think it does. I opted to put the led display by the rear window instead of on top of the rear view mirror, because typically when you back up you turn around and look out the back window.
