I use my keypad almost every day. I usually just drop my keys in the desk at work and leave them there 'till the end of the day. If I need something, just walk down, use the keypad, and viola! It's also nice to use when fishing. I HATE carrying keys on the docks. (I had a friend drop a set and he got to go swimming.) It's just easier to back the boat down then lock the keys in the truck.

It's very handy. I use it often. No need to call OnStar to cry about being locked out of my truck Maybe Gm needs to get with the program. Or maybe they don't do the keypads because they want to sell more OnStar subscriptions.

I had mine added at the dealer and love it for the same reason everyone else said. I just didnt know it was wireless or I would have hidden it in the bed some where. great add on for not so much money.

I don't think my key has ever left the cab of my truck.

I always "hide" it and use the keypad.

Same with my wife's explorer

Thats where my viper alarm system with remote start comes into good use.

How do you unlock the tailgate with the keypad??

I have a tonneau cover, and a power lock tailgate. It's on the same circuit as my passenger door. Thus by taping my code into my door handle keypad, the tailgate unlocks.

My STX did not come with factory keyless. And they won't add it. No problem, I personally put in a Crimestopper keyless, then pulled that and installed a Ford Deluxe alarm/keyless.
Then I added a keypad drivers handle. I had to develop my own method of installing that as the STX does not have the wiring harness, or factory keyless to allow it to work with the door mounted or stickon keypad.
I can tap in my five digit code and the doors/tailgate unlock. A simple not too expensive mod that anyone can do. Even if they don't have keyless entry.

I also use it everyday. I use it at the gym, at home, when I do anything outdoors that could risk me losing my keys. I love the keypad.

It's funny when people go to their truck and forget to grab their keys off their desk

I have an XLT and mine came with the keypad. I thought all XLT's came with it.
