Here in Texas we have to get our vehicles inspected and I'm pretty sure it's the same in California and a lot / if not all other states. My question is, since you know longer have high beams after this conversion, is that part of the state inspections? I know they check all the lights, but will it fail inspection if you no longer have high beams?

you'll still have high beams if you do it right, but they are the same as your low beams lol

Ill take pics in 30 minutes. I *********d up my kit...idiotic me tampered with the wires while it was on! I got so excited when I saw light, I disconnected and reconnected it. BOOOM! One side doesnt work now.

Heres the strange thing. I thought it was the bulb I messed up, but it wasnt. Swapped it to the other side and it worked fine. The right side is the one that works normally...turn light on, its on..turn it off its off. The left side is...turn the lights on, its doesnt work...the second I flash the high beam, for some reason it ignites the bulb and stays on. Once I turn it off it stays off when I turn it on again, I have to flash the high beam real quick to ignite it...follow?

Now my suspician is that I ********d up the ballast or some sort of igniter to power the HID on startup. I thought I wired it wrong, but I replicated what was on the working side and it should work right? Wrong...the side that doesnt work is wired a different sequence, but works with the high beam trick.

Remember, I got it working with the right wiring, meaning it was the same as the working side until I took the wire on and off while it was on. Make sense or did I confuse everyone....

Bottom line is I tried every wire configuration and it doesnt work...only one way works and thats when I have to click my high beam for a quick second. If I leave the high beam on, the working side turns off. Weird...

McCulloch and other korean made kits have sensitive ballasts. They do not have internal protection circuitry and can be damaged very easily. Its a common problem for kits like these to flicker and not strike the first time and they often flicker and turn off or stay on and dont shut off.

Sorry for the delay...Im still bummed off messing up my ballast. Anyhow, just to let everyone know, IM VERY HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS KIT.

- Beam is nice and spread for a non-hid headlight housing.
- No need for high beams...if you cant see with these, you got issues.
- Light is spread fairly well, not as wide as an OEM application (bimmer, benz), but its much wider than what our stocks are.
- Color is perfect...WHITE with just a tad bluish/purple, definately do not look like fakey bulbs. If you were driving by, you know for sure they were HIDs.
- Need to adjust beam to point down a bit...ever since autospring leveling kit, lights are too high. Anyone know how to do this?

Very happy with the install despite my idiotic mishap which was 100% my fault. Id definately do it again with my next car if it was not HID equipped. Pics are horrible quality and dont show the true color and beam of the HIDs. Ill get some better ones, just thought Id tease everyone to let you know that it is done and working...sort of.

After:

Here are more (sorry for bad quality...Ill take more with a nicer camera and better area to show lighting and beam patterns. I just wanted something up so you guys knew I wasnt blowing you off...)

Another Headlight Shot - Direct Shot

Easy fix to an idiotic problem...I just blew the low beam fuse on the Ford, not the ballast. Also, I wired it wrong on both sides...HA. There are 3 wires to the stock headlight socket. When using this kit, you only use two of the three. Middle is ground and one of the outter wires. Only one works with low beam, the other high beam.

HIDs are fixed and no problems!!!

I meant to take a pic of the lights on with the fogs...wow, what a difference and damn the stocks are fugly. I ordered some Silverstar 9005's to hopefully get rid of some of the yellow in the light. Ive never seen Silverstars in action, but I sure hope the live up to the name and hype everyone gives it.

Ill have more pics tonight...its not dark enough yet.
