New stuff I bought...HID and Headlights
Headlights were late...came in today. Just got a call from the house and it looks like it was delivered. Knowing me, Im going to try and do this tonight...if not, tomorrow for sure.
Looks fairly easy after looking at the HID Kit...it really is a plug-n-play setup. Headlights look like 3 bolts or so...I just need to make sure I have my lights angled right.
Ill keep everyone posted...I hope I dont disappoint myself with the purchase.

I hope to hear a good report I am on the fence with it myself. Don't forget pics.

I'll have my HIDs installed at the end of October. I'm doing a custom retrofit with Lexus LS430 projectors. They are the widest and brightest HID projectors on the market. They will also be modified to have both high beam and low beam. Total cost of the project will be roughly $1,100. HID done correctly is expensive....
Sorry for the late reponse. I tried to install it last night...got the headlights in in 2 minutes and tried to do the HIDs in the remaining 10 minutes I had before dinner plans...NEGATIVE.
I noticed with this kit, they gave a wiring harness aside from the kit itself. I was a bit lost, but called them this morning to have them explain. Well, only mustangs use the harness because of mounting issues or something of that sort...so we're clear. I did have to clarify some wiring issues. The connector piece they give does not mount directly to our stock wiring connector for the headlight. There are 3 wires on the stock wiring and the HID kit only has two. After talking to them, only 2 wires are needed (middle and right side) and you do need to file down a small stick of connector thingy to make it fit in the stock connector since the one provided is not a direct bolt-on.
Tonight I will finish the work and take pics of everything...it really is a simple install...I just hope the light projects much brighter than they used to be. One thing I didnt think of were High Beams...those are nothing now with this kit. Looks like Ill be upgrading the stock fogs to the 9005 Silverstars just for extras.
Ill keep you posted this evening (Pacific Time) and check in again. Sorry for the delay...trust me, Im just as excited as some of you waiting for some info. I sit at work thinking if I can do it during lunch, but dont want to rush.
And yes...pics will be included!!! I wont forget...otherwise everything I say here can be just a lie for all you know...

The kit is truly plug an play...it just would have been 10x's easier if they provided a connector to plug directly into the our stock headlight wiring. Plenty of space under the headlight to mount the ballast too...Ill take pics of mounting locations etc.

There is no such thing as bi-xeon HID reflector (with the exception of what is going into the new GT500 mustang, that is the first, but that is a reflector and everything modification and costs $1,000 in parts).
YOU SHOULD NOT BE USING YOUR STOCK HARNESS TO POWER YOUR HIDS!!!! The stock harness should only be used to turn your lights on and off. Power for the lights should come directly from the battery. When HIDs lights turn on they pull multiple times the normal wattage that is supposed to go through the stock wiring harness. OVER TIME YOU ARE GUARANTEED TO BURN OUT YOUR STOCK HARNESS IF YOU DON'T USE THE BATTERY TO POWER YOUR HIDS. Burning out the stock harness will cost hundreds to replace.
Don't want to be a killjoy, just trying to save you a lot of money and headache in the long run. I've seen way too many people have this happen to them in the past 6 months.
Our halogen lights are dual-filament. Meaning one bulb does both high and low beams. HID reflectors ONLY DO LOW BEAM, SO YOU WILL LOSE YOUR HIGH BEAM. There are several threads discussing this subject very in-depth and pictures of someone with a plug and play kit have already been posted. I believe by Luis.
WHEN TAKING PICS: (to accurately show the results you must take the following type pictures)
1. 25 feet from a white flat wall with your truck perpendicular to this wall. (this will show how bad the glare will be to oncoming drivers. You should have a clean cutoff with little to no light above roughly 3 to 4 feet off the groud)
2. 60 feet from a white flat wall or pointing down a dark road. (this shows the spread of the light and how much usefull light is actually put out on the road and now just shining out of your headlight)
Best of luck. Results should be good but not great for HID. I should hopefully have pictures up within a month of my setup. It'll be a good comparison of projector vs. reflector HID performance. It is estimated that from 60 feet my projectors will light up over 100 yards in width. Of course I'm also putting an obnoxious amount of money into it.

For safety, I will be installing the harness they gave me that does go to the battery. It has some fuses within, so anything that happens (IF it were to happen) would hopefully stop before my factory harness.
Spoke to them again and they said that it only pulls 5 amps when factory pulls 7 amps or so...but since the harness was free, why not use it...
So I figure to save myself future headache, I might as well use the harness now and just do it that way. Thanks for the info...
Anyone know how to adjust the beam? Ever since my Autospring kit, I seem to be blining people...I want to aim them down a bit.
