rainwater coming in with window slightly open

this is probably a stupid question, but i was wondering if anyone knew of a fix to keep rainwater from the wipers coming into the truck with the window cracked open. i'm not a fan of the vent guards or shades and didn't know if there was a way around this. my 98 did the same thing and i lived with it. just thought it would be nice to not take a bath when i'm driving (unless i'm coming back from fishing...)

This reminds me of the old childhood tune:

There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza -dear Liza
There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza -a hole.

Then close it, dear John, dear John.
Then close it, dear John, close it!!!

I don't understand this. Many people acquire the vent guards and never drive with an open the window. Sounds like you are someone who could actually benefit from their functionality.

I put vent shades on six years ago and have no issues.
They are good for lowering the window about three inches in the rain with no interior percipitation.

I was wondering how I could drive in the rain and see out of my windshield. Im not a big fan of wipers, or Rain-X...

Any suggestions?

AVS In-Channel Ventvisor (part# 194443) _ Advance Auto Parts $48.80

I wasn’t a big fan until I tried these now they’re the best thing since sliced white bread IMO; the truck stays way cooler, parked in the sun, with the windows cracked an inch or two

it's petty, i know. and i know what you mean Raoul, i just don't want or like a lot of extra stuff on the outside like that. i have a hard enough time looking at the factory running boards on there (which may soon wind up in the classifieds). i may do a little looking and see if i can find a nice, small chrome set of shades or something similar. i only really need them when it's raining on hot chili day...

piggnford, you'll just have to hang your head out the window like Ace Ventura. those shades actually look pretty good, where'd you get them?

My shades came from O'Reilly Auto. They were about $50 for the set (crew cab). They stick on with tape, no complaints thus far. Had the same brand on my other truck for 7 years, no complaints. Alot of bang for the buck, and I can live with the looks as well...

Try This.
When raining, just crack your window, take your hand, and run it along the pillar. I found this works on my 05 F250 while driving. I recently tried it on the new F150, same results. I know it's horribly simple, and you have to do it with each new storm, but it really works.
