Warranty Tires?

Can I warranty my tires that are making the ride in my '04 F150 bouncy? I only have 32000 miles on them but they make the ride sometimes feel like Im driving a 1950s truck. Some roads its fine, but on the main freeway that I drive everyday it makes it very bumpy.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey I've been on Southern Cali freeways, you sure it ain't the road?

Seriously though, what makes you think it's the tires? I'd say just take it in and get it looked at if it's that bad. What's the worst that can happen. However, after 32K, I personally don't think they'll give you tires under warranty.

Yes I got that too. I was thinking that I should try and warranty it out rather then try buying new tires.

Its just odd because it seems like my tires have worn really fast and I have never taken it off road except to the dump, and I probably have done a few burnouts but thats all.

Free tires are always nice.

If it was the tire's it would happen all the time not just a certain road . I have a few spot's here on near by interstates that get funny thought it was my truck till i went down them the second time.

I think that about the only way to ever make good on a tire claim is if the tread peels off the tire. That is, there must be a catastrophic failure that is clearly due to a manufacturing defect.

Since nobody has mentioned this, I will. Make sure the tires are at the proper pressure. A 5lb difference above or below will cause different handling issues. This is especially true if you have one tire over/underinflated, or tires on opposite corners. Keep in mind how heavy these trucks are. Keeping proper pressure is critical for proper handling.

Thats what I was going to say. I had a friend buy a new ranger with the same type of tires on my old f150, not even a year goes by and the tires are bad. By knowing him, I am sure he didn't keep up with his airpressure. It sure make a big difference.

Tire Replacement

I had my Wranglers replaced under warranty. They will replace them for uneven, excessive wear, or vibration/harshness. My tires were worn out at 18000 miles. They were worn evenly on all four. Not more than 1mm difference between them. The sad part about these tires is that I live in Alaska and they only saw 4 months of good dry pavement. Majority of the 18000 was winter. They extended the warranty on the F150's to 3/36000, older model years are 12/12000. I work at a dealership as a technician. I don't believe Ford will pay for other than OE tires.

Make sure the dealer road force balances the tires, they will then know if you have a tire problem. I just got three new stock tires as all three failed the road force test. I have 12,000 miles right now, and have complained about vibration form day one. If there is a problem and you are assertive they will replace them.
