Xcal2 need tune file

Just got my Xcal2 today, but when I load the custom tune the truck will not start. I've been waiting for a couple days for the dealer to get back to me now. I can't wait any longer! If someone has some .xtr files for a 2004 5.4L I would like to get this thing to work.

What dealer abandoned you??

It's my understanding that custom tunes are NOT interchangeable with other similar trucks. Only files meant for you truck's PCM and VIN number will work. Right?? The documentation you received should have explained these things.

You did load the stock tune back in right? That should at least get you up and running. I know that one from experience

Must not be a Troyer tune because he doesn’t leave ya-hanging for a couple of days with a no-start.

Chances are the code it was custom tuned for is different from the code it actually has. It’s not uncommon for a dealer to re-flash the PCM and not put an “Authorized Modification” sticker under the hood.

I bought the tuner from musclemotors.com. I gave them my PCM code (EAY2) and specified that I wanted a tow mode for pump gas and a performance tune for 91 octane. The tuner only came with the 91 tune and my truck won't even start with that tune. I'm extremely disappointed at this time. Right now I'm out almost $400 and getting nowhere.

EAY2 was mine on the PCM too. Turns out it wasn't what was actually in the PCM

My guess is you ran into the problems that Troyer fixed a few weeks ago. Look in the Chips & Programming forums for more info.

I just got an email from SCT tech support and they told me the correct PCM for that vehicle is EAY4. If any dealers out there could help me out I would be very greatful. I'm going on a road trip in the morning and would love to have some more power. So far I've sent about six emails with no response from anyone.

Well my dealer finally got me the EAY4 files, but when I load them I immediately get a check engine light. The flash tools shows two codes P0606 and P2106. So once again I put it back to stock.

P0606 - PCM processor failure (MIL, ETC light)
P2106 – ETC FMEM – forced limited power; sensor fault: MAF, one TP, CKP, TSS, OSS, stuck throttle, throttle actuator circuit fault (MIL, ETC light)

Kinda looks like they programmed the tuner incorrectly for your engine.

Very well could be... he's not with us here anymore though.
