Had an almost hour talk with Mike this afternoon. He knows these trucks inside and out, and knows what to do with em.

I am very pleased with the response I got for him and I apologize if anything i said was out of line

Huh... how 'bout calling them and expressing your concerns? It's rare to hear anything bad about Troyer.. I guess everyone has their off days. I'm sure they'll patch you up.

Sent it back overnight UPS over a week ago (another $40 in shipping fees), now after calling a couple of times, I can't get anyone to give me a status on it. Needed it in by this friday cause I have a lot of long distance driving to do over the weekend and didn't want my speedo/milage to be off etc.

Doesn't make one feel like a cared about customer when you call and get the brush off, yet for 2 hours after the call you see numerous posts to drum up business.

I'm getting close to calling the whole thing off and finding a new source.

I sent them all of my dyno runs a week ago by e-mail to see if Mike would tweak my tunes based on what he saw. I have re-sent them two more times and haven't even gotten a response of any kind. Even if they said "we got your e-mail and we will get back to you as soon as possible" at least I would know that they got it. I do find it strange that Mike Troyer has time to respond (sometimes lengthy) to Forum questions over the past week for new business, but not to past customers with problems such as yours. Your problem needs immediate attention. I don't have a problem with what I have purchased, but I did spend some money on Dyno runs and I would think that they would be helpful for a Tuner to look at.

I have a feeling that they are just swamped. But like I said, your problem, along with the money spent on shipping is a big concern.

And I agree they are probably swamped.
But when you send out a defective item (regardless of defect since I have no idea what the problem is with the tuner), that item should be fixed, BEFORE you keep sending out new ones to other customers.
I'm curious as to why they wouldn't offer to cross ship you a new one? Or did they make that offer?

My same thoughts too! Looks like TP's reputation of great customer service isn’t something that they practice anymore.

I may stick it out till my AF1 comes, but I would NOT recommend this vendor for future purchases.

If you didn't want to wait.......You could always go out and by an inferior tuner, right off the shelf.

And after getting the chance to talk to Mike this afternoon, and sorting it out, I'm definately waiting for the good stuff

My wife and my wallet (or is that the same thing?) would probably like it better if I was still upset about it all

Whatever he did, he must've REALLY took care of you. It's just a shame that it escalated to the point that you had to take your problems here. I've bought two chips/programmers from Troyer and he and his staff have always been friendly. The bottom line is the situation is RESOLVED. A lot of companies would just take their internet lumps

I wanted to thank both NJSteveFX4 and Chris (Tun2One) for their posts in this and other threads clearing up the misunderstanding that apparently existed. I especially look forward to the further R&d we';ll be doing on Chris' truck at the dyno when he gets his upgraded XCalibrator 2 so he can provide us with proper datalogging, etc. Thanks to both you guys for your time this afternoon!

Now on to the erroneous post by "SoundPer4mance"...............

Nobody else has the 14 years of specializing in the performance tuning of this F-150 platform that we do - though there are a lot of jealous people out there doing anything they can (including getting their buddies to make posts, or making posts themselves under different names, just for example) to try to compare themselves to us.

Nobody else has the 14+ years of specializing in performance tuning the computer-controlled F-150 platform that we do - period. So no, it is NOT true your claim that anyone else can do "as good or better tuning" for these F-150's that we can do. Pure BS.

Just like I wouldn't even think of calling myself a world-class Honda tuner, for example.

We are the oldest Superchips distributor in America - period. We are also the very first and oldest SCT distributor - and tune far more of these trucks than any other SCT dealer - period. Those are the facts.

We have specialized in the performance tuning and platform performance improvement of the F-150 platform for over 14 years - We provide R&D services to numerous other manufactures making performance parts for these vehicles, and we also provide assistance to other tuning entities (including numerous other SCT dealers when they run into problems with these trucks). Those are the facts.

So no, you're *not* going to get "the same or better" tuning for this platform from others.

For the most part i do stumble around life confused, however on this particular topic i think im ok.
I Understand the XCAL is no more than an "empty" device that gets programmed by an individual, it's merely my opinion about Troyer Performance being a great VENDOR to have program the device with a tune that you can really feel in the seat of your pants. I think all he does is Ford's.....thats good enough for me.
