Has anyone installed there own tint on the new F-150?
I saw this link on eBay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4556066091
and emailed the seller and he does have the pre-cut tint for the new body style.
Years ago I installed mirrored film in early 70's VW Bus. It wasn't difficult and I didn't tint the front drivers nor passenger windows, only all the windows behind the drivers seat, except the rear window, I put a one-way print on it.
My concern would be spraying the windows and some (possibly a lot) of it dripping down into the door and messing up the electric motors and switches.
I would assume the pro's have some technique to avoid this, or maybe it shouldn't be a concern.
Any thoughts?

My thoughts are you should be able find a professional to do the front doors for about $50 cash. That ebay kit is $32 shipped. For just a few more bucks, it's worth it get a professional tint job. I used to tint my old cars myself too, and they would come out ok, but for someone that does it every single day, they do a much better job.

I paid 60 bucks to have the pro do it and w/ a lifetime warranty. However, I've installed tint before (many years ago on my ford ranger out of high school). It looked pretty good. It's not all that hard, but I'm so particular about my truck, I probably couldn't do it well enough to satisfy myself!

There are so many professional tinters out there who are falling over themselves to get your business that you'd be crazy to try to do it yourself!
Tinting is relatively cheap, and there are a lot of shops out there that do great work. You don't have to be a Rhodes Scholar to do a decent tinting job -- you just have to have lots of practice. That is where the advantage of using a professional tinter comes in. They do so many vehicles throughout the day that they just get "good" at it!

Alright, the consensus is in, I'll let the pro's do it.
Here in Lawrenceville, GA, I've had a quote of $165 for all 5 windows, nothing on the windshield, but I do not know their quality of work. Tinting is all they do and they have been here for a couple of years so that is a positive.
I'll locate a couple more tinting shops and get quotes.
Thanks for the input.
