it actually did make me a crab towards ford after the labor rate cuts and all that happened over the last few years. (in case you arent aware of what im talking about, www.flatratetech.com )

So in order not to remain a crab, i left the automotive field recently and now work as an IT consultant for a healtcare co.

but i wasnt trying to be too smart about it, just saying that i know for a fact that nothing in a 2004-current F150 has the capability of anything other than setting a DTC in the PCM, or recording speed and inertia in the event of a crash that sets off the passive restraints.

It can't raise your insurance but it makes you available for extra discounts if you're a safe driver. My PCM is black and it's a box shape, but I agree with ya, it's not a mysterious black box on a plane...just a little different but does similiar things.

they do that? damn. I'm with the wrong insurance company.

Yeah I figured as much, thats why I agreed to do it. Especially since I get creamed on car insurance. Lol, just walked out there and wiped it down and it's not painted black...just black with dirt...haha, thats funny. RP would flip if he saw something that dirty.

I was under the impression that the pcm can store only so much data and as new data is entered, old data is deleted.
