G-tech question !!!
G-tech question !!!
Okay, here are my "official" 1/8 ET track times. Note the 60' times, trap speed and mph. This was with tailgate off, swaybar off, in 65 degree weather and minimal humidity at the track in early March...better traction at the track. Although I did spin a little bit out of the hole.
60'....2.03
1/8ET-9.10
1/8MPH-76.2mph
Now, I just bought a G-tech after I installed electric fans and a Plasma Ignition Booster. Ran a few runs. This is of course on the street, on street tires. Tailgate was ON, swaybar ON, 1/2 tank of gas in 80 degree weather and 80+ % humidity. So, much worse conditions than my previous track runs.
60'-2.40
1/8ET-9.64
1/8MPH-75.5
1/4ET-14.89
1/4MPH-93.2
0-60MPH-6.3
I am trying to figure what my 1/4 mile would be with the same 60' as my track time. The 60' time difference is nearly 4 tenths. On a 60' that is alot. It is said, for every tenth you drop in 60' you drop 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile. That would essentially give me a 14.00 in the 1/4 on street tires. I know with some Nittos I could pull a 1.90 60' easy.
I HAVE ran a 14.15 on a G-tech on a hot sticky road, and even then I spun a little. With some Nittos I think I could pull off some VERY HIGH 13's.
Any opinions?

Well, although I didnt get any replies...I'll update this one. LOL!!!
I ran a few more times and pulled off some better numbers.
2.32...60ft
1/8ET...9.4@78.8
1/4ET...14.6@95.5mph
0-60mph...6.17
This is in warmer conditions, no traction or easing into the throttle to not spin (both of which kill your times).
After ALL of these runs and analysis, I calculated what my truck is capable of under good conditions.
70 degree weather, at the track, with traction, tailgate off, I figure a high 13 or very low 14. I suggest a very low 14 second 1/4 mile.
On the street I am an easy 14.5 second vehicle. At the track 13.9-14.0. Trap speeds are high enough. So, that is my two cents.

How about some Procomp tractione bar's?... and what size tire's you running
Since i dropped my screw and went to the 285/50/20 good years i can't smoke 'em any more and no more 2nd gear chrip's

Running 295/45/18 Toyo Proxes. It's the TQ. I dyno'd 340 ft lbs of TQ at the wheels last dyno. Much less HP, but TQ is slamming. I need some Nittos' Even at the track I am spinning.
I cant hook so either I spin or I ease into the throttle. That kills not only the 60ft, but if you spin, the engine bogs down when it catches traction. Then you have a terrible time and trap speed. If you ease into it, you get really slow 60ft times, but high trap speed.

Looks awesome, the e-fans i dont think are worth it just what the fan already pushes, and it already gets cut off @ WOT so the best move would to be get a lightweight flex-a-lite fan or something along those lines
I have 3.73's on a 28.45" tire. Comes out to like a 3.92 final ratio. Even if I ease into it I still spin a little. So then I have a slow launch and spin...LOL!!!
Oh well, if I could find a cheap 18" drag radial. Nitto's are 460.00 for thr pair. OUCH.

YOu need to find a 1/4 track...
The G-tech may be good for the 1/8 miles... but it sounds like its off in the 1/4..
Sounds like that truck should pull some high 13's easily in the street.
I know in my truck.... it really has some serious pull in the upper RPM range...
Maybe I dont have a clue what I am talking about, but it seems like those 1/4 miles times are slow.
Good luck at the track...
Im contemplating the e-fans myself....I have the money saved up... just waiting to pull the trigger.

Well, you have to keep in mind the areodynamics of these beasts.
By the time you hit 90mph you are seriously losing lots of power due to wind resistance.
Yes, on a track I could hit 13's with a good launch. But, on the street it aint happening on my Toyo's. I might be getting some Nitto's soon.
Those 14.6 times are on terrible 60' times. I was running 2.26 60' bone stock with no mods, no weight reduction and here I am modded to the hilt pulling some 2.3's.
I could pull an easy 1.9 on a good launch. So, yes, feasibly I could run high 13's. Again, the heat here in Florida, plus the humidity, plus the fact I am currently running these G-tech times at around 100lbs heavier than I am at the track.
Nitto's, tailgate off....and I could see some 13's. I bet on street tires at the track I could pull some 14.2's or so.
Figure a 14.6 on a 2.3 60ft is pretty good. That shows I am spinning or launching slow. Actually, both. I aint worried.
A 95.5mph trap speed is also pretty damn good.

Tested by G-tech, the Cd and Frontal Area equations of these trucks will lose approximately 28HP at 95mph.
That means you are slowly losing more and more HP as you go. So, since I dyno'd 275 HP at the wheels on a dyno, at the end of the 1/4 mile I will only be pushing 247hp at the wheels.
4x4's...even more with big tires and so on.
Anyway, you get the idea. All cars create drag, but our trucks create ALOT.
So, if you ran the exact same 1/8 mile time as a Z28, including trap speed. Technically, he will run a better 1/4 time and trap speed than you will. Sucks, but it's true.
