Does Troyer offer a better deal if you were to buy a Xcalibrator, Magnaflow exhaust, and the AF1 intake as a package?
The only way to get an answer to that question is to call Troyer and ask. They will tell you how much it costs to get it to your front door.

You'll have to refer this question to Mike but, EXTENSIVE R&D has been done on this product. If all of us were going 'lean', the engines would be throwing codes left and right. While Marc had a very slight problem with his initially, he, I believe, has driven several hundred miles now with no codes what so ever.

Your quote on Mike talking about lean was early in the R&D I believe as he and I chatted about that briefly.

RockPick,
Since you had the exhaust and the Xcalibrator on first did you need to get the Xcalibrator re programmed after the AFO install? I ask this because I only have the exhaust at this time and I'm not sure what to buy next, the tuner or the AFO. Cant aford to get them both at the same time. I'm thinking AFO first then the tuner, but if you did not have to get the tuner reprogramed maybe I get it first. Any suggestions?

P.S. What is TEM5 Computer Code?
I didn't have to have another custom tune done (thank god). I specifically asked Mike this question as well and he said that it wasn't necessary. Like you, I was worried about this as well.

TEM5 is just the code on the computer utilized by Mike for your custom tune. I tossed that in as a 'tidbit' of information and for a bit more clarity (although, not necessarily effective. LOL!

So you guys are saying that the AF1 is not noticably louder than stock??? That kick's as$. That's gonna be my birthday present...
Sorry man... missed this one the yesterday...

I can note only VERY VERY VERY minor sound when I'm really getting on it. Other than that, I can't tell it's there audibally... I certainly can with a butt dyno though.

I take it the other systems (air raid, K&N) make louder noises other than stock?...what kind of noises?

I am also in the market for an intake system and a tuner.
There was recently a thread about someone removing their AirRaid system because it was 'too loud'. Short of that, I don't know.... I would, honestly, compare the sound of this one to stock.

hay mike talks about the horspower gains but dose any one know the torque gains from this intake? to me this is just as important. also was those horspower gains on a stock engine not modified with a tuner or modified exhaust? just curious. thanks.

Jason...

Great questions...

I can't recall word for word what was said in one conversation I had with Mike but, I know there was product testing on a 'stock tuned' 04 and 05 I believe.

Since I don't remember it verbatum, I'm going to defer this question to either someone who knows for sure or over to Mike.

considering that hp is a derived value based on torque it is the most important aspect.

Good things come to those who wait!

I am willing to wait another month or so to get more reviews when peeps get them installed!

My truck is DAWG butt slow but with 10" of lift that tends to slow the ponies down!

I want a Tuner and Intake for my Birthday or sooner!

Well you gotta understand, It will only throw a Lean code at part throttle or idling when the 02's are being used. At WOT, thats another story and its solely uses the MAF. So if the air readings were wrong, it could go lean and not throw a code, instead burn up plugs and pistons.

Im with the rest, With all the "R&D", where is a dyno sheet with a Wideband 02 hooked up to it showing A/F at WOT???

You would think they could at least come up with that to prove the HP #'s they are claiming.

Just a few quick questions.

Who makes Air Force One?
Is there a Air Force One website?
Thanks.

EDIT: Nevermind. Found it.

Hey RP,
It sounds good eerrrrr...or should I be the one to say I like the lack of sound.

Did you have any opportunity to compare it, sound-wise, with the AirRaid?

I don't by any means want to knock AirRaid's performance. It lives up to it's good reputation from that standpoint.

It was too noisy for my tastes but I can see where others would love the throaty sound.

The AF1 just may be what I need.

Thanks in advance.

AF1 is Awesome

Received mine last night 4/21/05, installation on my 2004 F-150 crew cab 4X4 was easy but some of the pictures and instruction were weak. There are these rubber grommets that support the heat shield that need to be installed flat side up the picture just doesn’t show that or you can’t tell.

The sound is great it is very quite at idle then when you rev it up it sounds just like the old Quadujets with the air cleaner flipped. I already had the Magnaflow exhaust on and it started crackling and sounding better also. At normal driving speeds you don’t even hear it, but step on the throttle and the whole system comes to life.

Driving to work today I got 20.4 MPG that also is up from before running at 70 MPH. You can defiantly tell a difference in the power as well. After installation my son told me to break torque the truck, I punched it on the driveway and smoked both tires for 8 feet wouldn’t do that before.

I would recommend the AF1 to everyone here and I sure am glad that I waited a to get it. Thanks Troyer Performance and AF1 for all your hard work and R&D to get it

i have never had any code show up with my airraid.id does make a lot of growling sounds, but anybody that remembers a 4 barrel with a lid flipped on the aircleaner in high school will love it. it also made my borla louder, i guess more air in - more air out.also just put the throttle body spacer in, it whistles almost like a turbo...did notice 1800-2500 rpm power increase. anybody else running this...its the poweraid?
