22's = Vibration & Brake Squeeking?
I've had my 22's on my truck for about 3 weeks. My truck had 2700 miles on it when I put my new rims on. Prior to that I hadn't noticed any vibration or brake noise. I'm hoping that maybe the vibration is just something with the tire balancing and can be fixed by having them rebalanced. I start to notice it around 70 mph's. I'm more concerned with the brake noise. Can anyone who has upsized their rims tell me if they've had any issues with their brakes after they put on their new rims?
Thanks guys

You didnt happen to lower your rear end when you put the 22s on did you? I had mine lowered 2in and I had a slight vibe...so I raised it up to the 1 1/2 hole and it went away. As far as it being from the 22s, I have had zero problems with vibrations or brakes with my 24s. I did however have some brake noise that started around 2500 miles and then went away at about 5000 (I put my 24s on around the 3000 mile mark). It was more or less loud squeaking and whining. I think a lot of people have had this brake noise during early break in.

In one word. Alignment! 3 friends of mine changed wheel/tire sizes. All had problems. After getting realigned their problems went away. Seems Fords factory alignment isn't exact enough. Bigger/larger tire sizes are enough to change the tow to cause problems. The 3 friends are all driving 05s if that makes any difference.

i would re-tighten your lugs...
depending on the center bore of the wheel.. if its too big - when you first put the wheels on it might not have been totally centered when you tightened the lugs.. and now that youve driven it the wheels have situated themselves with the minor road vibrations and bumps..
if that doesnt do anything i would def get them rebalanced (you might have thrown a weight?)

my tires always vibrate a little until they get warm then its not too noticable. There is a slight vibration, but hey, this is not a factory ride. im gonna guess the brake noise is because of the bigger tires and rims that the truck has to stop....maybe you are used to stopping on the old tires and pushing the brakes a little hard. Ive got about 7 thousand miles on my setup and would enjoy upgrading at least my brake pads so i dont have megadust on my rims everyday. :santa:
