I take my truck offroad but I don't beat it up at all. I can't see how the FX4 is any better offroad. I also tested out both trucks offroad and didn't see much of a difference, other than the fact that the FX4 jumps all the over the road like Im in a covered wagon.

Although that fancy grill and instrument cluster that makes me feel like Im in an airplane, really makes it shine offroad!

Lariat not as good as an FX3½ off road... that's a laugh! It's the same truck. Same ground clearance, same tires, same engine, drivetrain, etc... those weak skid plates and worthless shocks don't really matter much either.

Do all Lariats come with skid plates? cause my truck definatly has skid plates. I thought all Lariats had them.

Funny thing they try to say the shocks are so nice, I see everyone that owns a FX4 practically have been switching them to the Blisteins, and only one Lariat owner.

Ladies, ladies...
Review even though its been done b4...
Lariat vs FX4
Leather vs. ...prolly Leather
prolly 4x4 vs. 4x4
Wood Grain vs. Carbon Fiber
"4x4" Decal vs. "FX4" Decal
...if anybody can think of anything else, feel free to add. Oh wait, yes, before I get killed, I'll add that there ARE a couple of more options on the Lariats for those...overachievers.
Personally, I think of FX4 the same way I do Z71: letters and numbers.

I thought FX4'S do better off road?? Something to do with a little bit stiffer shocks or something?? I could be wrong, but why do they make the FX4's suspension a little different then the Lariat?

Since we have a review from a FX4 owner, here is one from a Lariat owner.

Lariats owners, well we just have the best truck out there. Whats left?

FX4s are for bums, who only own a Lariat in there dreams.

This will never end, ever.

TRITON: They do use stiffer shocks but I didn't notice any difference really, but than again I wasn't jumping them either. However I don't really want to beat on my $40,000 truck.

I can see this thread going of forever.....all of us that have a Lariat have it and like it for our own reasons. Those that have FX4s have it for their reasons. Of course, we all like or own truck best so there is no winner to this argument.

Both are outstanding trucks (very little difference). I personally got a Lariat for the extra goodies on the inside and I like the look of the two-tone paint and grill on the Lariats. I also like the woodgrain interior and REALLY like the steering wheel stereo controls (etc). I never go off road with it and need the 4 wheel drive for the winter.

It's called "Marketing"

It was a catchy soundy title, just like "ES" "LS" "SVT" "XL" and all the other meaningless suffixes we get suckered into.

It was a way to make you think you were getting something special.

Hey, it worked on me and I've been in marketing all my life.

OK I will jump in...

I can afford anything on a Ford lot including the GT40.

I chose the FX4 because the way it's setup.

In the spirit of this thread I would have to say that Lariat stands for...

L ittle
A rrogant
R ude
I diot's
A ttitude
T ruck

Enjoy
