Closing in on 13's in the 1/4....

Well, assuming so based on 1/8mile times. My new 1/8 mile time after mods is now at a 9.19@75.5mph. Who said the new 04's were slow? I was spinning a little on those runs too. So, I could feasibly be at a 9.10 or so with perfect traction.

Video and slips coming Sunday time-frame.

Mods are:

Excalibrator tuner
Magnaflow exhaust
Rear cats removed
Underdrive pullies
Airaid intake

Set-up is:
RC SB 2WD 5.4L 3V
3.73 LS
Curb weight at race time-4760lbs.

Next up are 4.10 gears and electric fans. This should easily slide me into the 13's in the 1/4 or 8's in the 1/8. SWEET !!!

Oh yeah....NO BOOST...ALL MOTOR. No NOS, Turbo or Supercharger.

Hell yea man. I wish my truck could produce those times but its a little harder with the supercab 4x4.

I am going to supercharge it this summer...maybe that will get me moving a little faster.

Hellbound, sounds like you're moving along. Question: Why did you take out the cats? I had read that on newer trucks they don't create much restriction.

For sure it will. Go with the Procharger kit bro. I am. This summer the new 3 V kit is getting installed. Suppose to be knocking down 400+ at the wheels on my set-up.

I am looking for high 7's in the 1/8 with slicks on the rear.

I am trying for the best possible NA time I can get on this truck while maintaining a street legal approach. Per Florida law, if you still have two cats on, it is legal. Seeing how the two rear cats were not at all associated with the 02 sensors...it was a no brainer. The muffler shop did it legally and for only 50.00. Plus, it did add power.

Keep in mind that when they say HI-FLOW cats, you are still far away from the flow you get with a no cat system. Without a CAI I think you are wasting your time though. More air in, more air out is the key. I am looking into doing some O2 simulators and electric cut-outs next.

I felt the power difference almost immediately. The computer did recalibrate itself after I did it, then it was very evident.

Hey; you had the truck movin' pretty good last night I normally am in the Lightning section, ventured over here. BTW; I was in the white dodge.

I guess you left early? I didn't see you later on that night; the air must have got a little better. I managed to click off a 9.11@76.9mph I figured out a few tricks on launching the truck, and dropped the spare/tailgate. I'd like to see some 8's out of my dodge, but this is my DD/work truck

You get a chance come check out the local forums at gulfcoastmuscle.org Lotta of the people who go to the track, and such post on there.

Im not TOO far behind you.. I got a regular cab 5.4 with AirAid, 1714 tuner, custom exhaust...

Pullies and E-fans next...

Hopefully by the end of the summer, I will have 4.30 gears for the rear... These stock 3.55 gears just aint cuttin' it.

I just cant manage to save enough money to MOD my truck...

Just a little at a time..

Cool man. Yeah, I saw your last run before I left and it was a 9.24 or so. I spun every damn time. Not much, but that quick chirp is worth a tenth. Last time I kept spinning on my 9.58 runs and then on a perfect launch I ran a 9.49.

With the new mods, I dropped 3 tenths and worse traction. But, gears and some Nittos oughta take care fo that. High 8's.

Oh, you will see high 8's easy with a programmer on yours. I'll be watching for ya.

What size tires and wheels. When I had Airaid,1714 and exhaust on my 30" 17's and 3.73 I ran a best of 9.5 in the 1/8th. I would assume you are about a 9.7 or so on a cool night in the 1/8th. Very low 15's in the 1/4. With the right mods you will make it up for sure. Keep it coming along.

After gears, fans and cut-outs I will be in to the 13's in the 1/4 pretty good. Then, by end of summer I will be Procharged.

OMFG I cant even imagine.

I still got the stock tires and wheels on it.

17" Hankooks... Im still running slow times, but the truck has really woken up since I bought it.

I'd like to get new, lighter wheels, but $$ is a big issue.

It's a work in progress.

What are your times? Dont be ashamed man. LOL!! My times were 10.0 from the factory in the 1/8 with no mods in the summer heat. Only 9.95@70.5mph in the cool spring air.

Post em up bro.

Oh one more thing hendrix.....I got the Lariat wheels off of e-bay for 250.00 shipped to the door. The tires I got for 765.00 brand new from Toyo directly.

You can get a set of light, smaller diameter tires/wheels for about 700.00 if you do it right. There is no need to spend 2500.00 on rims/tires.

I chose more expensive tires, but you can get a good set brand new for much cheaper.

I do have a programmer, but not sure how much it's worth since it's a hypertech(all that is available for the 04's) The insulated intake, and a 180 Tstat. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Don't think I will have it out much once the blower comes back for the other truck.
