? for those of you with KC daylighters

so i got a set for my birthday and mounted them on my bull bar along with a set of 8 inch IPF 900xs. the kcs' are the titanium series lights but i was wondering if anyone knew where (if possible?) i could get a new lense that would spread out the beam so it would act more like a fog light as opposed to being such a spotlight? (?) i would like to use it more often to help out my fog lights. thanks in advance guys!

I havn't seen anything yet but I would be interested too if you can find anything. My best guess would be to call KC and see if they could help you out directly. Got any pics of your truck? How did you get an 8" light on the bull bar? Is it not the Westin bull bar?

I don't think a lens swap out would make it street legal. You've still got a hellova bright bulb and 'spreading out' the beam would just blind oncoming traffic even more so. Get new lamps that are right for the job.

it is the westin bull bar, i mounted the ipf 8" lights behind my billet grille. i was going to aim the lights downward more towards the ground, i travel ALOT of long and dark unlit roads to go on snow machine trips and it is nice to be able to see the sides of the road as you are on a mountain side with no guard rails, i wouldn't use them much on the highways or anything. legal isn't a big issue up here in alaska as far as fog lamps are concerned anyways.

i will try and post some pics of the new set up soon, working 2 jobs is quite time consuming!

Hmmm... well if that's the case, you have room left on your bullbar right? Just get some 6" fogs for the bullbar and light the hell out of the everything since you don't have to deal with smokey. Throw all the light you can!

How did you mount the lights behind your grille? Did you make a mounting bracket yourself?

To me, and with the billet grille, it reminds me of a bodyguard in an Armani suit; poised and polished, but you wouldn't want to mess with him.

And with the lights on, the grille doesn't seem to impact the lighting much at all (these are 6-inch Hella 500 driving lights.)

I really really really like how it turned out. It's much better than I expected.

I've got a few mods done, and a few more to do. I'm planning to do a gallery but with the small amount of spare time I have right now I want to get the mods done first. I'm sure you all understand.

That is awesome. Which lights are those and who made the mounting brackets?

truck looks good man. i mounted mine more in the corners b/c of how heavy they are they refused to stay up and not wiggle loose with a small bracket like yours... plus alaska roads SUCK so the lights are always bouncing around if they are not REAL secure

i will get some pics up as soon as i find someone i can e-mail them to so they can post em.. i suck with comps!

I fabbed the brackets myself out of 1/4 inch aluminum stock, bolting them together due to my poverty of not having a mig or tig welder. The lights are 6 inch Hella 500's.

ak_1fitty is right about the wiggling, though not due to the brackets being small. The fact that they are only mounted on two places each allows a small front to back wiggle as there is some compliance at the mounting points. It really could use a third mounting point, creating a mounting plane to stiffen it up. It's clearly not Baja 1000 ready (and perhaps not even Alaska road ready,) but I believe it will work for me.

I'm really dying to see ak_1fitty's 8 inch setup to see how macho they look. I won't swap given I'm a little concerned about radiator (and more importantly A/C condenser) airflow, given my Phoenix location and the historical complaints on the boards about the A/C performance on some of these vehicles. My vehicle hasn't seen a summer yet.
