got some pictures if i could email them to someone to host i would appreciate it!

if you mounted them like i did off to the side it is almost completely out of the way of the radiator and doesn't obstruct any airflow (doesn't appear to anyways but in alaska it dont matter)

****by the way i my fog lense replacements!! part number**** KC4206 6"round fog lens/reflector

well if someone could help me out i'd appreciate it very much!!

edit: wasn't trying to talk down on your brackets just that i tried a similar instal at first and it just wouldn't work... wasn't trying to offend!

Totally no offense taken. I was just passing along information that I figured out while doing it. The lights really need a three point mount for rough going. I don't want people spending time making what i did if they are going to truely go bashing about. For others like me who occasionally 4x4 I think it will work nicely.

What I'd really like to see is someone taking this idea, improving it (with a better mounting scheme) and commercializing it. Then everyone could benefit easily.

I can host your picture (for a while anyway, space is limited....) Send me an email and we'll get it figured out.

I used the send a message feature of the board to send you an e-mail last night. So unless the feature is broken, you should have an e-mail from me at whatever address you registered with on the board. I'd rather do that than post an e-mail address here for the spam-bots to find.

Just reply to the message with the pics and I'll get them up.

you could make brackets and sell them but i think that it is a simple enough task that most people would just use scrap metal and put the lights exactly where they want them.

Back from the post graveyard...

I just bought a set of PIAA 80 PRO XT SERIES as my friends at Truck Outfitters told me they have stopped making lights this bright for some strange reason.
Anyways i am going to have them installed behind my billit grill as well, and was wondering if you guys have had anyproblems with rock chips or anything like that.
As well where did you mount the on/off switch?
Thanks Trev

no problems with the rock chips the billet does a good job protecting them. mounted my on/off switch beisde the cigarette lighter... just drilled a hole for the KC switch and the other one i ran right along side of it since it had a cord....

i dont know why they'd stop selling lights "that bright" as my 8 inchers are insanely bright....

good luck with he instal tho

Hi Trev,

I finally got my mods documented, including this one. Click signature picture for details, including wiring and switch location.
