PCM TSB question.
PCM TSB question.
Went in last week to have the hesitation I experience when passing taken care of. The truck feels like it has been reflashed, but the service guys didn't put a new sticker on my PCM under the hood. I was under the impression that they had to since they had modified it. Am I wrong in thinking this?

I got mine flashed for low speed RPM surging and I didn't get any sticker either. When I took it back to the stealer the service tech said they updated the calibrations and that did not need a sticker???
I believe that they are wrong. But in any case you should demand to have them tell you what update version they installed so you have a record of it.
The sticker is NOT on your PCM. They should place them someplace under the hood. Some are up on the inside of the hood and some are on the radiator cover.
Do a search here as there are some pictures of just what that sticker looks like.
Big TRQ you might have missed it.

If they have not placed that sticker under the hood, then you need to go back to the dealership and speak to someone, usually the Service Manager if available or their assistant, and let him or her know that your PCM (powertrain control module, ECU, etc. it all means the same thing, your powertrain computer) was reflashed but no sticker with the new calibration code was placed under the hood, and you need that information (take your service paperwork from where they reflashed the PCM with you just in case). Don't worry if they ask you why you need that info, that is really none of their business; their only concern in any of this is to just do their job correctly. The sticker identifying the new calibration code is required by emissions laws, as it is a change that affects emissions status, and so they have to comply with the requirements when an automaker makes a change like that, and you do not have to explain why you want it. It's simply a matter of making sure they did their job right, so that no future dealership will charge you to scan the ECU to identify that calibration code should you have another problem in the future out of warranty and the next dealership needs to know which calibration you're using.
Well,
I looked today, and lo and behold, NO sticker. I really am doubting now if they actually did the re-flash or not. I think for my next oil and filter change I'm going to start going to a new dealer and have them re-flash for the hesitation I have. Maybe the new dealership will put on the sticker.
