Piece of Cake
Whoops: this was suppose to be a reply to the oil change thread. Sorry guys.
I have always changed my own oil. It is not a money thing, I make plenty of coin. I just like working on my trucks; always have and always will. It is getting to the point these days where an oil change is about all a backyard grease monkey like me can do.
I bought this very cool oil filter wrench from Sears. It is a Craftsman tool that has three arms that pivot on center. You attach it to a 3/8 inch wratchet and it will grab anything it can get ahold of. The tighter you turn, the tighter it grabs. I use an extension with this tool and come up from below to remove the filter.
As far as oil, Wally World sells the Motorcraft syn-blend 5W20 for a buck-forty a quart. They also carry the Motorcraft filter for our trucks (at least at the Wally World near my place).
So pay the peasants if you wish, it is good for the economy. But I like doing it myself and knowing it was done right. Besides, it helps me justify all those tools I own.
