I won my DSB.
I won my DSB.
Well ford has to buy my lemon back, no mileage charge.
Can anyone help me with the time frame? The letter says that Ford has to do this within 30 days of the letter.
I sent my acceptance letter and my paperwork overnight, yesterday.
When can I expect Ford to contact me, to discuss this?
Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

Congratulations!!! I really enjoy to see that others are getting their trucks bought back by the DSB.
I worked with my dealer and the DSB on my replacement vehicle. I was in a new truck within two weeks of sending my letter into the DSB agreeing to the award. Problem is I had the Thanksgiving holiday that delayed things a bit or it would have been even sooner.
If your doing a replacement instead of a complete buy back then....Work with your dealer today and get your truck picked out. Once you have the truck picked out, call your DSB representative and let them know that your replacement truck has been selected and ask them if you can fax them your current sales agreement, financial agreements, and registration on your existing truck. They need this information to do the financial peice of the buy back or replacement. The DSB representative may expedite things by entering your existing truck information in their computer system. It really moves things along.

It took about 2 weeks for Ford to call me back and ask for my decision on a Replacement or buy back after I sent my acceptance papers back and about a week or so to call me with all the dollar figures. That was on 12/17.....I am still waiting for my dealer to receive the checks. I chose the buy back vs the replacement.
I think waiting for these checks to comein has been the worse part.
What are your plans?

To answer your last question...You will now deal with the DSB and your dealer. Ford corporate does not get involved with this process. You will also have to involve yourself if you want the process to go quickly.

I think I am going with the complete buy back. It makes better financial sense with the current rebates, plus in Louisiana I get my sales tax and fees back as well.
I am planning on going to the dealer to talk with them today. I want them to know that I will probably be purchasing a new truck from them as soon as I get my check. Hopefully that will help expedite the process.
I want to thank everyone who has given me advice and comments about the DSB.
Happy New Year.

PALongbow,
I assume you can go to another dealer other then the original purchasing dealer? I don't want my current dealer to make a single cent. or sale.

DrkShadow,
You can go to another dealer if you elect that path. If your planning on doing that then maybe a complete buy back is in order instead of a replacement. The replacement option prohibits you from taking rebates; however you can still switch to another financial instution that offers better financing. The replacement option assumes rebates, X-Plan, and negotiations, ect have already took place on the current vehicle.
I used my same dealer because they have been very supportive and I usually get some additional attention becuase I buy my vehicles from them and also send other people there.
