Crappy keys

I just bought my truck a couple of months ago and my key is all messed up.It looks like the plastic is shreding right where the hole is for the key ring.I was think of replacing it with a ranger key with a colored logo.

My key looks like my dog's been chewing on it. It's all black too, unlike some other Fords like Exploders, Crown Vics, and a few others where the Ford emblem is blue, like on the steering wheel.

Cheapskates.

Mine look a little rough too. But I'll have to put it in the 'no big deal' category.

Sounds like we're running short of things to complain about!

I just looked at mine though and it's chewed up a little around the ring hole. It's just the metal ring rubbing the plastic coating. No biggy to me. I got mine in January. So if you just got your truck then maybe your key has been tossed around a few hands at the dealer if they've had that truck on their lot for a while. Just my thoughts.

My FX4 keys looked the same; however I just fixed that problem on Friday. I handed the dealer my FX4 keys in return for a new set of Lariat keys....LOL!

I bought mine back in Feb. and the keys for my XLT have the blue oval on 'em. They still look brand new. It sounds like your dealer gave you a set of aftermarket keys for your truck. Whatever sense that might have made.

I have a early 04 XL that has the key with the blue logo and a late 04 XLT with the plastic key and in a month the XLT keys look 10x as old as the XL keys.

I think Im going to see if my dealer will give me a key with the blue oval like my XL keys have. Seem to be better quality.

I have only had my truck for a few weeks, and the key looks like hell. I am wondering how the rest of the truck will hold up!

Both my '04 XL keys have the Blue logo and I have a third key I ordered from a Locksmith on line that also has the Blue logo and came in an official Ford paket. All are like New...

I clayed mine last week and waxed it today. I'm also getting dust shields for it.
