Crappy keys
Well I guess Ford was spending time designing stuiped things like the frame and motor for our trucks..god what were they thinking!? maybe they should of been doing what they were supposed to, designing nice keys for our trucks!
Maybe thats Cheby and Dodges case where they can build a nice key but their truck is well..not as nice as the key!

I wet sand my key once a month, followed by Meguiars Scratch and Swirl Remover.
I finish it off with a high speed buff using Meguiars #26 Yellow Carnuba and a spritz of citrus air freshener.
I have had many Dodge, Chevy and Nissan owners comment that my keys look much better than theirs.
I hear some of the F150 keys are coming with pretty bad orange peel and plastic "covers" made from recycled Focus door sills so you may want to start the DSB process if you are in that boat.
Make them replace the lock cylinders too, don't be satisfied with them merely replacing the keys.

My 2003 Explorer has the Blue Oval key. My F150 has the all black key. I have been carrying the Explorer key for 14 months longer than the F150 key. I carry both keys in my pocket on a key ring. The Explorer key still looks BRAND NEW. The F150 key looks like it is peeling all around the edges. I think Ford has just gone to a cheaper key...kinda' pisses me off, but it's no big deal, I guess.
I dont know why I am even in this thread, but my truck is an 04 XLT job 2 and I have the black keys with blue logos, and they look like keys (little scratches on the black)...they are keys! As long as they start the truck you will be fine.
