I would guess that a lifted 4X4 with any 33's or 35's would run pretty good in the snow, especially it it had some mud terrain tires on it. I'm looking forward to trying out my 35" Pro Comp Xterrains if it ever snows here.

Personally, I like the BF Goodrich T/A KO tire for snow. They have great traction and low noise on the highway. They will however wear faster than other brands, but they do go good while you got em.

The Mud T/A is super too, but very loud on dry road, and not too smooth either.

Blessings!

Aren't the Nitto Terra Grapplers as well as the BFG T/A KO's both M&S rated?

Blue - I'd think you'd be fine with either, and should be able to find a size to fit.

BFG A/T KO's are really good on snow/ice and mud and come in 285-65-18 (or maybe its a 285-60-18, not sure, but its almost the stock replacement size). I think they make a 315-?? 18 that comes on the Hummer H2, might be too wide though for the wheel. BFG Mud Terrains suck on ice with the bigger lugs.

I'd look for Bridgestone Blizzaks or something similar.

AND get them studded if you can

Thanks for all the replies guys but i have few issues .Mud terrains sucks on ice and their snow traction is low(site tire rack) Maybe all terrains would be better. Now that i have my truck is lifted the center of gravity is higher so wider and bigger is becoming almost a must beyond that awfull look of the stock tires.Another issue is our stock rims are 18x7.5(lariat) and any tire with good snow traction requires at least rim width of 9 inches. To give an example let us take TOYO OPEN COUNTRY A/T (MS rated) here are its specs:

LT 325/65-r18:Overall diameter is almost 35''and good looks which would satisfy me but requires 9-9.5-10 rim width
TOYO OPEN COUNTRY M/T(NOT MS RATED) does have a tire size 35x12.5-r18 and requires 8 inch rim width which is fine (0.5 additon of rim width is tolerable) and it is overall diameter 35 inches .It is a good looking tire an aggressive one but this tire is only for looks in my opinion and would suck on snow and ice.

Another good choice is NITTO TERRA GRAPPLER

This tire is MS rated all terrain and HAS 35 inch OD which seems a good fit for lifted trucks also nice aggressive look .But again the only size available is 325/65-r18 and requires 9 inch rim width. There is one other size it is 33 inch tire and requires 9.5 rim width.
NITTO MUD GRAPPLER seems to be the best choice it is advertised as improved snow traction and 35'' Overall diameter and fits 8.5 width rims. But it is not even MS rated and i do not trust advertises.

MICKEY THOMPSON BAJA CLAW RADIAL is a good choice

LT325/65R18 (35X13.50R18LT) rim width(9-12) OD= 35 inch(same problem)

same goes for the Irok tires.I also could not find a 33'' or 35''blizzak tire(ice tire).

Sorry the thread went so long but i think this is an issue that we are all facing and i am still not sure what to do.We are a meditteranean country so it does not snow like it does in north U.S but when it does snow it snows hard.

Solutions:
I thought of ordering factory stock 17'' rims but i do not know their rim width and with 17 inches there would be really no space left for brake calipers and can rub inside of the rim.It seems like best thing to do is ordering new 18 inch aftermarket rims with at least 8.5 inch of rim width(a pricey solution). In this case you won not have brake caliper rubbing issues but if you do not have spacers you will have major suspension rubbing issues.Another choice is just to order one of these wider tires and put it on our stock 7.5 width rims.My humble opinion is DO NOT.THESE TIRES ARE RADIAL TIRES and when cornering these radials gets damaged because of awkward and misangled situation of the tires meeting the asfalt when cornering(bad english but i hope you understood it)This would be very dangerous even life threatining if you are a hard driver.Staying with stock rims and tires seems to be another choice but it slides like hell to left and right and looks awfully bad.
I would love to hear more from you guys if you have any opinions or solutions take good care of yourselves
