Hit a deer last night... OUCH!
Only had my F150 for 2 months, and last night I hit a deer. I do have to say I was impressed at how little I felt the impact and how little damage the deer caused at 40 MPH. The deer looked worse than my truck!
Looks like I will need a fender and bumper. I was going to add a billet grill anyways, and looks like the headlight is ok (just knocked loose).

Wow, that looks real good considering the other 'hit-a-deer' vehicles I've seen. How big was the furry bastard? Did you make it fly?
See this give me the confidence to give people 'love-taps' on the freeway without concern about screwing up my front end. Well, maybe I'll wait for the bull bar just to be safe...

Oh it was a big one, and boy did I make it fly. It got a 10 score for the triple twirl backflip! I would have taken it home, but considering the mess it made down the side of the truck and the smell it left (full bladder on that one), I decided to leave it. These trucks were definately made to take (or give) a beating!
I just got my 04 STX Back from the body shop on fri after a deer hit 10/8. The truck was 5 weeks old. Mine took out everything from the fenders and hood down. Both headlights ,grill, evaporator, bumper, etc. It cost me and the insurance co. $2537. From your picture yours doesn't look quite that bad.
I hit the sucker doing about 45mph. He slid down the road about 50 ft on his side, shook his head and got up and headed into the woods.
I'm thinking about either a bull bar or grill guard, but I don't know if they would protect from that type of hit.

Thats really too bad, I travel in deer country, New Jersey and upstate New York. Have always had deer whistles on my vehicles. Friends always ask if they work, and I can only reply, have never hit a deer. Try this [url]http://www.deerwhistle.com/
If you look at most of the grill and brush guards the tubing is only about .060 wall. seems sorta thin for stopping much. I think the true bull bars that replace the front bumper as well are made of at least 0.120 wall tubing. Funny thing is with as many deer strikes as we have in Wisconsin a true bull bar is impossible to find for any pickup.
O U C H !!!!
Well i guess the door dings arent that hard to take after something like this happens.
To bad the deer didnt do a little more damage to the hood, as now would have been a great time to switch to an aftermarket hood that isnt made of aluminum.
Take care

Impressive.
My mom just last week had a deer ram into the side of her 2001 BMW 740i as she was driving home down some country roads, and it did some serious damage.
Not to mention the guy that was behind her watching the deer and not the road, who then plowed into the rear of my moms car.
