I also believe that the 4x2 and 4x4 kits will be interchangable. Check with the manufacturer to make sure though. All of the spacer or leveling kits (Daystar, Auto Spring, RevTek, Skyjacker) are interchangable between 4x2 and 4x4's. I know that Fabtech and Pro Comp both advertise 6 inch lift kits for 4x2's. You also have the option of a 3 inch Performance Accessories body lift. If money is an issue, you could go with a body lift and one of the leveling kits. As far as raising the rear, you can add a lift block or add-a-leaf to the rear to get the height you desire.

what would be the difference between a 3" body lift and the 3" Skyjacker lift? cost is a factor here. i have around $1600 to spend on lift, wheels, and tires. ive found some good deals on the wheels on Ebay. im still looking for the tires im thinking some 285/70/17 i should be able to clear right?

The Skyjacker is a suspension lift. Their 3 inch kit consists of a replacement coilover shock and an add-a-leaf for the rear (I think). The body lift lifts the body only. I'm not sure of the price for an 04 body lift (mine was about $115), but it will be a lot less expensive than the 3 inch Skyjacker lift.

$269 is cheap compared to a full suspension lift (althought that is high for a body lift). I don't know why it wouldn't work with a 4.6. If money is an issue, go with one of the coil spacers and the body lift. THis will make the truck level and give your about 5 1/2 inches of lift up front.
