Fabtech 3" lift

Is anyone here familiar with the three inch Fabtech lift for the 04 F150? I was on the phone with a local lift shop and they said that there was a fabtech 3" lift out. Is it a suspension lift? Is it any good? Could I fit 33" tires on a 4x2?

Thanks!

-Chris

I knew Fabtech made a 6 inch lift for the 04 F-150 4x2's and 4x4's but this is the first I have heard about a 3 inch lift. I know Skyjacker makes a 3 inch lift that consists of a replacement coilover shock. As far as fitting 33's on a 4x2, 3 inches of lift would allow you to fit them with the correct wheels. I know that I have seen a 4x2 with 285/70-17's (33x11.50) on aftermarket wheels with just a 2.5 inch leveling kit. I can't remember if he had 17x8 or 17x9 inch wheels though.

Hi Wandell,

Thanks for replying. I'll call the place up again and see if he was mistaken. Have you heard anything good or bad about the 3" Skyjacker lift? Is it a suspension lift or body lift?

Thanks!

The skyjacker 3" is a suspension lift. They are a pretty reputable company, and I am considering them for my 6" lift.

Actually the Skyjacker 3" is not a suspension lift, its a leveling kit with new shocks and coils for the front and the kit includes one additional leaf spring for the back. If you want new shocks for the rear end you’ll need to purchase them separately. The kit with shocks for the rear cost about 1150 installed. The ride is just a little stiffer than the stock fx4, so little the wife didn’t really see any differences.

I had this kit installed on my new 04 fx4 about 2 weeks ago. I had problems at first with the upper A arm hitting the coil springs on compression but the installer rotated the coils 180 degrees to fix this problem.

I had the truck off road today and it preformed perfectly. The trail was rated as a five using a 1 to 10 rating and was 30 miles long.

Looks great! That's the kit I was thinking about getting for my FX4. Thanks for posting it.
