Can I add the compass/outside temp to my 04 XL?

 

Changing out the cluster is very do-able, but I'm not sure the sensors are in there, nor is the wiring. You'd be MUCH better off getting one of those $70 digital compass/thermometer deals to stick up top of the window. Had one in my XLT Expy. Very nice. Less money and a LOT less hassle.

Search around, you'll get info on folks that have done a cluster swap. And yes, the whole cluster has to go, not jus the little display.

 

Or you can get an electrochromatic mirror with compass/temp display from ford, or anywhere for that matter.
