Can somebody and everybody that has a gallery of their lifted 2004 F150. I want to see different wheels and tires combo's. I dont really like the real wide tires and rims, they stick out to much. Can I keep my stock 18" rims and put 35's on them, so they stay somewhat thin. Does anybody know what I meen. I have just seen a couple of trucks that their tires stick out way too much

I'm sure others will post here soon. As far as 35's on the stock 18 the tire choices are very limited escecially considering how narrow the stock wheel is.

Hoss, my gallery shows older pics in it, which you may like of my truck about 6 months ago. BFG 315/70/17's - almost a 35" tire. Accomplished it using a 2.75" levelling kit in the front on a 4x2.
My new gallery, available in 2 weeks will be a 6" suspension lift, and Eagle alloy 186 rims on the same tires. Much nicer !

I have the same setup as Sherm just with All Terrains rather than Xterrains. Same wheel; Eagle 186 Series. I dont think you will find many tires in the 35" range that you can mount on a stock rim since the rim is only 7.5" in width. Some guys like Chemgod did mount the 315s on the stock 18" rim but I cant say I would do the same after talking to BFG and Procomp tire companies. Here is a pic of my tire and wheel setup, I dont think they stick out too far at all and really look great on the truck. Good luck with what you choose.

Dont listen to what the tire companies tell you will fit, they have to do that for liability, whether or not it is safe. Check my sig. On my Bullitt I went with a 335/30/18 tire on an 18x10 inch rim. Manufacturer said I could only fit a 295. Wheel maker said the same. Its bulcrap. You can fit alot more than what they say, and I proved it. I was also dropped. I know this is a Mustang, and you guys are talking about trucks, but the concept holds true.

The calipers were painted. They are a nice dark red to match the lift now that the brake dust has settled on them. I still think the truck stops fine but I will end up swapping out the rotors and pads with an upgrade at some point. I also think I am going to put in steel brake lines but thats way down the road.
Yes you can definitely fit outside of the tire and wheel manuf. reccom. because they obviously work off a safety factor and dont want to be sued. Like I said Chemgod has been running his truck out of the reccom. size since I joined this site and I am pretty sure he is still alive. The main thing is, if you are offroading or driving fast or airing down your tires (all pretty common with us) you want to be within the spec so your chances of blowing a bead are lower. Under normal driving you should be fine but when you begin to stress the tire you could get yourself into trouble.

Where the hell have you been. I havent seen a post from you in forever.
I am really interested in comparing the rancho and procomp. I know rancho says 4 inches but I have heard they are more like 5. Just for info for others you mind making some measurements, say from the ground (point of contact of tire) to the fender (highest outside point). I will do the same this weekend and post numbers for front and rear. If anyone has a Fabtech or another full lift please do the same.

Tires and wheels
This might sound stupid, but I am contiplating on what wheel and tire combo i want. I have seen a few 04's lifted and thier tires stick out way too much. I also looked at some of your gallerys and they look fine. Now when a wheel is 18x8.5 or 18x9, does that mean the 18x9 is 1/2 inch wider, sp should i get the 8.5. Also, there is a guy selling american eagle wheels on e bay, and they are pretty cheap. He says they will fit on a 2x4 or 4x4, i thought a 2x4 and a 4x4 are two seperate wheels? Does an 04 have front wheel lock? Should I trust this guy and order the whels?
