Why did you buy this truck?

I was just curious to get a little feedback as to what made everybody choose the '04 F150. For me it was the styling hands down. I first saw the prototype of this truck in the spring of '03 and fell in love with it right there. Then when they were available I drove one and that was it, a week later it was in my garage.

That was 7 months ago and I still look forward to any excuse to go for a drive. Even, dare I say it, the drive to work. I'm looking forward to finding out why everyone else bought one.

Now I might be in the minority here, but I liked the Nissan Titan. Now I ended up with an 04 FX4, but there were many things I appreciated in the Titan.

Now I have been a Ford guy from the start. My first truck was a 99 F250 Superduty which I lifted nicely. I later got an 01 Mustang Bullitt. Then I traded the F250 for aj 03 F150 4x4 Screw which was recently totaled. I also bought an 04 F150 Lariat 4x2 back in july. But when I totaled the 03 F150, I had to go out and look for a new 4x4. So I of course drove every new truck out there.

It came down to the Titan Off-Road 4x4 and a F150 FX4. Now these are both fully loaded crew cabs I was looking at. They both had every option and listed for 40k each. What I liked about the Titan was all the little extras. I liked the gearing, the 5-speed, the off-road package(alot there), the bed features, seat memory, mirrors, etc, etc. Overall it just had a bunch of "neat" things that the Ford didnt have. But what I liked about Ford was first, that it was Ford (lol), then the "look" of the truck (the Titan isnt bad, looks good with billet front grill imo, not as good looking as a F150 though), the Ford just fit me more in style, and then I just love the interior of the F150 and also the sound system. All of this eventually won me over to Ford (again lol).

Oh and the price. I got $10,550 off of the Ford, whereas Nissan would only give me 5k off. So in the end, the Ford was just cheaper, and I felt, the "better" truck.

So now I have added my 4th Ford truck into my list. Gotta love Ford!

$10,550 off?

Can you back that up with proof? I'll call b.s. on that until you can show something to back your statement.

Dude read the newspapers in my area. On some scabs they are giving 11,500 off! My FX4 listed for 40,XXX and I got it without tax for 29,750. If you are really that skeptical, I can fax you the paper work.

Lots of dealers are giving amounts around that off. Its a combination of factory rebates, dealer rebates, a rebate that I got for financing and a few other things.

This isn't why I started this thread guys. But since it's out there I can believe Bullitt's statement. My XLT stickered at 43K+ before taxes, that would have put my truck at about 49K+ with tax. I paid just over 43K tax included, which means I paid about 39,500 before tax.

Post a photo of the sticker and a photo of the sales contract (with all your personal info blacked out of course - VIN#'s must match ).

That will prove your point and then I will publicly state that I was wrong.

I am also curious as hell to see your > $40K window sticker because my FX4 was loaded out the ying-yang and it was stickered at just under $37K.

Get out your digital camera bro.

Let's see...
  • I work in a dealership.
  • "D" A/Z Plan
  • 0% Financing
  • $0 Down
  • 72 Months
  • I own two other Fords: '98 Cobra & '02 Volvo S40.
  • It was either an FX4, Expedition or XC90.

As I have already said, this isn't why I started this thread. I am curious to find out why those of us that bought an '04 F150 did so. There are plenty of good trucks out there and we all chose this one. I'm sorry if you don't believe what I paid but I have nothing to prove. Don't forget I live up north in Canada. Factor in the exchange and see what you come up with!

i bought mine because i test drove the others and there was no comparison....i also love the looks of the new 150's..as for price my truck has every option except the dvd and reverse sensing and the sticker was @ 40,100...after i talked them into throwing in a spray in bed liner and a set of ford chrome nerfs i paid just over 35,000 before tax's......this was back in january and they didnt seem to wanna haggle to much then....now i think you could get a much better deal on one of these trucks.....

Sorry Tbird, you are correct - your thread is getting hijacked.

My apologies.

I dont see why he needs to post anything. I am pretty sure if I was not the first person in the state of GA to have one of these things, I could have waited and got 10k off the price. I purchase mine 09/03 and got 7k off of it then. The latest deals without negotiating now is about 9k off at the Mall of GA Ford.

Sounds like you bent out of shape because you paid too much.

Negotiation is a beautiful thing.

Also 37k is not a load SuperCrew FX4....maybe a loaded Supercab, but not SuperCrew...they are in excess of 40k fully loaded...
